Rexona T20 Tollywood Cricket Trophy (Set-1)

When it comes to supporting the co-workers in a set up, nothing matches the ways and means followed by the cinema related associations. This is one organization which utilizes the glamour to the maximum. So when Lalit Modi’s IPL could survive three seasons and churn out pots of gold mainly using the glamour world’s brand equity, our Tollywood brothern thought that they can also scrape a little bit from one such hangover. Only the difference this time is that they themselves decided to guard the crickets. They did not leave a chance to outsiders even for high precision jobs like umpiring.

So the star studded event organised by MAA (Movie Artists Association) took off at Lal Bahadur Stadium on Sunday morning, the 13th June. They proved equal by all means to the international T-20 matches by adhering to the basic like proper uniforms, color of the ball, properly laid pitch, well defined boundary and nevertheless all processes by rules. What more can one ask for?

Rexona T-20 Tollywood Cricket Trophy had four teams fighting for the title. These teams were named Balayya Lions, Chiru Cheethas, Nag Kings and Venky Warriors and it is needless to say who the captains are. The four heroines for cheering up the respective teams were - Charmi for Chiru Cheetahs, Bhumika for Balayya Lions, Anushka for Venky Warriors and Priyamani for Nag Kings.

The grand gala event started off with some colorful dance performances (Local & International) including Veda’s classical dance. Former Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Dr. D Ramanaidu, Mohan Babu, Maa President Murali Mohan, Jayasudha, Jeevitha, Gemini Kiran, Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala, Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Krishnam Raju, Kushboo, Kalyani, Pawan Kalyan, Naga Babu, etc., were the prominent guests. The first two teams played were Balayya Lions and Venky Warriors followed by the other two teams – Chiru Cheethas and Nag Kings. While the umpires were KL Narayana and D Suresh Babu, the third umpire was Prakash Raj. Dialogue King Sai Kiran played the role of a cricket commenter.
