Parents Press Meet
Take One Productions has launched a film titled ‘Parents’ featuring ‘Happy Days’ fame Vamsi Krishna as hero and ‘Anand’ Ravi as director. The grand launch took place at Hotel Taj Deccan in Hyderabad today. Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Sekhar Kammula, Saikiran Adivi, Krishnudu, Aneesh Kuruvilla, ‘Anand’ Ravi, Vamsi Krishma, Ruchika Babbar, Shyam Dutt, Balachandran, Ashok Kumar, Gundu Sudhakar, etc., were the prominent guests. The launching event started off with the lighting of lamp by Sekhar Kammula.
Later addressing the media ‘Anand’ Ravi said, “My dream of launching a banner with my friends has finally come true. If we join the first letters of ‘Take One Productions’ it becomes ‘TOP’. The images of a boy and a girl in posters will confuse a little bit as the title of this film is ‘Parents’. But that is the story of our film. I learnt how to make films in an ethical manner while I was working with Sekhar Kammula garu. This is a youthful love story but does not belong to any genre. The hero in this film will search for his parents. But whether they are alive or lost is the suspense of the film. We are going to begin the regular shooting from August 5th onwards, complete it by September end and release the film in November.”
Hero Vamsi Krishna said, “I was in search of a good script after ‘Happy Days’. Even after so many years of the release of ‘Happy Days’ people still identify me with that character. Some of them still ask why I’m not using spectacles. My main aim is not to become a star but to become a good actor. While I was searching for a good story, ‘Anand’ Ravi narrated me an excellent one which impressed me very much. ‘Parents’ is sure to become a unique film.”
Sekhar Kammula while speaking, “Anand Ravi was my assistant for quite long time. One gets a good feel when they hear to this title. There is a new flavour in this story. If he takes the film exactly the way he narrated, it’s sure to capture the heart of audiences. When he said that he will take the film honestly, it was like a compliment to me. I convey my best wishes to the entire unit of this film.”
Tammareddy Bharadwaja said, “The present Telugu film industry requires good films because even after completing 75 years, we are unable to provide films that are recognized by National Awards jury. After Vishwanath garu and Dasari garu, only Sekhar Kammula’s films are at par with them. The directors hailing from his school are also taking films with the same sincerity. The story of this film is quite different from that of others and is sure to be a trend setter in Telugu Cinema. Along with good story this film will also provide good comedy and entertainment.”
Ruchika Babbar, who is making her debut through this film says that she hails from Delhi.
