Gandhi Shilp Bazaar 2016 Launch at NTR Stadium, Hyderabad
Telangana State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (A State Govt. Undertaking) was setup in the year 2015 under Companies Act, 2013 with an objective of Promotion, Development and Marketing of Artistic Handicrafts and Textiles and welfare of about more than One Lakh crafts persons working in different craft pockets spread all over Telangana State.
As a part of Marketing Support to the artisans of the State, the Telangana State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited would be organizing number of marketing events such as Craft Bazaars, Gandhi Shilp Bazaars, Exhibitions etc within and outside the State to provide direct Marketing support by inviting craft persons from all over the State for display-cum-sale of their products. The present event Gandhi Shilp Bazaar - 2016 which is being organized at NTR Stadium, Near Indira Park, Hyderabad from 30* December 2016 to 8th January 2017 jointly by Telangana State Handicrafts Development Corporation and Ministry of Textiles, Govt, of India by inviting craft persons from all over India. The main objective of organizing the present Gandhi Shilp Bazaar is to popularize the crafts and textiles of Telangana State and other regions among the art lovers / public of Hyderabad and create platform for artisans to sell their products among public as well as develop market linkages with Public / Private emporia for future supplies.
The Crafts which shall be on display are as under:
1. Silver Filigree of Karimnagar 11. Kashmiri Shawls.
2. Artistic Brassware and other Metal Products. 12. Chikan Embroidery of Lucknow
3. Cotton, Printed and Jute Durries & Carpets. 13. Jute Products
4. Kondapally, Nirmal, Bonthapally wooden Toys. 14. Kutch Embroidery
5. Artistic Textiles. 15. Patta Chitra
6. Wood Carvings. 16. Dry Flowers
7. Traditional Paintings 17. Terracota
8. Banjara and other Embroidery. 18. Blue Pottery.
9. Kalamkari Prints and Paintings. 19. Zari Embroidery
10. Pearls and imitation Jewelry. 20. Madhubani Paintings etc.
Around 100 artisans / weavers are expected to participate in the Gandhi Shilp Bazaar from all over the country.
It is requested that the esteemed reporters from all media may kindly give wide publicity for the Gandhi Shilp Bazar (All India Crafts Mela), so that the artisans coming from different parts of the country get better opportunities / sale from the art loving public of this great city.
