Jwala Gutta, an Arjuna Awardee and India's most successful badminton doubles champion launched her badminton academy "Global Academy for Badminton" in partnership with Knock Out Wellness Labs LLP, a sister concern of Franchise India on Saturday.
The first academy which is set to come tip in April in Hyderabad will be a state-of-the-art badminton coaching center with international standards, equipping players to train with the best and be better prepared to compete at global tournaments.
Ms. Gutta would provide direct mentorship to badminton players at the academy and look for badminton talents pan-India providing critical national and international exposure.
The academy will send the right talent for foreign exchange programs and will host all national camps within its premises. It will also ensure proper nutrition to be followed including modern sports science techniques and medicines to prevent injuries.

The academy will have two coaches, one Indian and one international with one coach for training of batch of 20 players. Academy will also focus on scouting grass root talents from local schools.
The academy will also tie-up with schools for opening centers within school premises.

The academy has also plans to set-up Centre of Excellence (COE) across 1-3 acres of land, which will be a hub of all sporting activities. Top players from centers across India will be trained at COE to further tone up their shuttling skills.
The academy will expand to Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata in 2017 and setup 50 centers. The total investment for this expansion will be about Rs 20 crores.
