30kms corporate cycle ride –the “ZenQ Freedom Ride 2017” held here in the city today at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. The Annual Flagship event of the ZenQ was flagged off by its Managing Director Murali Bollu, on Saturday early morning. Murali Bollu, who himself an avid bicycle rider drove the bike and participated in the ride.
125 Sofware Engineers, Testers, professionals participated in the ride.
ZenQ organizes Cycle Ride every year during Independence and Republic Day.
The ride was Flagged off at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium and traveled through Gachibowli Flyover, Nanakramguda Junction, Narsing Junction, APPA Junction and reached Himayatsagar from there it returned to Gachibowli Stadium in the same route. The employees of the company have participated enthusiastically, and the number of participants is increasing every year. .

In our new office space, the 1.09 lakh sq ft area where we are trying to move all our three differt offices in the city into one, by the end of this year, we are working to build a lot of new facilities. One such new thing among other will be the introduction of flexible workstations, height adjustable work stations(Sit-Stand and Work Stations) to suit any work style while facilitating wellness and productivity, informed Murali. This new facility is created to accommodate 1000 workforce, Murali shared.
It is said, sitting is the new smoking. Standing desks once upon a time arose lot of curiosity. It is believed that only eccentrics use them. But, today things have changed. Standing and working has its advantages such as that it could reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. Research shows that the cumulative impact of sitting all through the day, month and year can lead to the range of health problems from obesity to diabetes to cancer. Because, it is estimated that an average office goer spends 5hours and 41minutes sitting each day at his or her desk. Sitting is now considered as the new smoking.
The software engineers who are getting into the profession must fit Fitness into their workday. Particularly those who spend long days at workstations, sitting nearly motionless, they need to squeeze substantial physical activity. To enable this work are creating such workspaces which will help them ease out stress, work and keep fit, Murali added.
Cycling is one of the best ways of staying fit and healthy, as it brings in many benefits like reducing the incidence of diabetes, BP and obesity informed Murali Bollu.
With this initiative, ZenQ hopes to create awareness about the benefits of cycling as a means to stay fit and healthy, leading to a healthy India.

30 per cent staff of ZenQ are women. Women need to be more fit than men as they juggle between office, home and family responsibilities, added Murali. Moreso, the women in IT, need to be more fit than ever before.
The proposed International Cycling Track along the ORR is welcome. It will encourage cycling significantly, said Murali. The city needs more cycle tracks, he added.
