i-Telangana 2017 by FICCI & Dept. of IT, Electronics & Communication Government of Telangana at HICC

Hyderabad, 10th October, 2017: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is working towards the sustainable growth and development of Indian economy. To build a strong foundation for economic growth, FICCI is actively involved with all related stakeholders on regular basis, associating and working closely with initiatives taken by Governments across India and industry. With the same ambition,FICCI in partnership with Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communication, Government of Telanganaorganized a half-dayevent"i-Telangana 2017"with the theme of "Embracing Technology, Transforming Telangana" at the HICC, Hyderabad, on Tuesday.

During the inaugural session of the event, Shri K.T. Rama Rao, Hon'ble Minister for IT, Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Industries & Commerce, Public Enterprises, Sugar, Mines & Geology, NRI Affairs, Government of Telangana, announcedtheupcoming policies of the Government on the Internet of Things (IoT) and e-Waste Management.Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department, Industries & Commerce, Government of Telangana, Mr. G. T. Venkateshwar Rao, IRS, Managing Director, Telangana State Technology Services Ltd, Mr. B. V. R. Mohan Reddy, Founder & Executive Chairman, CYIENT,Ms. Nivruti Rai, Country Head, Intel India, Mr. Naresh Shah, President - India R&D, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Dr. SanjayaBaru, Secretary General, FICCI, were the other key speakers at the Inaugural session.During the event, Government of Telangana also showcased their ICT initiatives via demo-pods.The event witnessedover 1000 delegates from industry, members, government officials, academia and entrepreneurs.

Along with the eminent speakers from Government and the Industry, the event also facilitatedengaging panel discussions on IoT and e-Waste Managementwith anobjective to advance the dialogue between various stakeholders. Understanding the crucial role of Internet of things in Digital Era, the IoT session also discussed the potential for the IoT technology for the society and the business, especially the industry 4.0, while, the e-Waste management session discussed how proper e-waste management can help in achieving considerable breakthroughs in generating business opportunities, conserving natural resources, adding value and creating jobs along the supply chain, and abating health and environmental hazards effects, by presenting lessons learned and success stories.
