Speaking on the occasion Mr Vishweshwar Reddy said, here are crusaders for the right cause and they deserve accolades. We are grappling with a war against the dreaded cancer, which not only impacts the patient, his family, but the nation's economy too. Cure Foundation and Apollo Cancer Hospital are fighting for that cause which helps many kids to fight the disease and lead a normal life thereafter.

Ms Sania Mirza said, There are several tennis players and athletes who have been afflicted of cancer and it doesn't spare anyone. As a sports person and athlete I am there to help such deserving cause whichever way needed. We can also have a tennis tournament on similar lines to help such patients.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Vijay Anand Reddy, Founder, CURE Foundation & Director, Apollo Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad, said, Children are gifts of god and deserve just love and care. At a tender age like that the innocent ones being afflicted of the dreaded disease is a major concern for the family. But cancer in children is curable to a large extent. Almost 90% of them get cured if provided with timely and proper treatment. Therefore the child deserves the best possible care to come out of it and not all can afford the cost of care, especially the ones from the underprivileged sections. Not possible for an individual alone to help them and the community or group of people coming forward can make this possible. Here the celebs are the brand ambassadors for the cause and can spread the awareness. CURE foundation supports under privileged children to get state of the treatment at Apollo Cancer Hospital. Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup is being hosted for the last 10 years to create Cancer awareness and raise funds to support the initiatives of CURE foundation, he added.

The “Celebrity Playoff” is a custom designed format to entertain and give celebrities an opportunity to take a shot at the game. Our aim is to create fun, get unique environment where celebrities get to interact with audience and golfers and spread Cancer awareness, says Dr Vijay Anand Reddy.

Format for the Celebrity Putting Contest

Each participant has to swing the driver club and hit the ball to a designated net on the dais. The last four will be eliminated in each round.
