Kesav draws an analogy to voice his struggle with artistic conformity by saying "A particular Raga wherein variations are practiced, can only be explored within the framework of those particular notes". The focal agenda of this series of works is an attempt to emancipate form and spatial dynamics from the servitude of the conventional decree that binds and shapes the majority of the recent artwork, including his own former works. It is a quest to obtain a sustainable stability in his work without having to be bound to a generic orthodoxy of symmetry, pattern or figure.
Though a number of his works are incorporated with cooler, he reminds us time and again that color is merely a medium. It is a vessel of portrayal that helps an artist inculcate a mood and also helps the expression of the ultimate image he desires. Color (if used), coupled with the lines and forms and a balanced background and foreground eventually delivers the absolute.
Kesav proclaims his work as temperamental, as each piece takes a few days, through which he is afflicted by numerous contradicting emotions that condense on his projects and render them. Though this humanly chemistry destines the fate of his strokes, wherein some lines are slashed almost erratically across the canvas and some figures develop depth owing to the generosity of their creator's pamper, the perspective and orientation stay rigid forming a final cumulative image.
The artist often alludes to abstracts as merely a form of representing a feeling or an emotion. It might take a 'trained eye' to appreciate the skill by which a work is rendered or produced, the theme and the essence of the work, however, are always up for any number of interpretations.
