Ram Gopal Varma's 'Naa Ishtam' Book Launch
Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Naa Ishtam’ book was launched by Lagadapati Rajagopal on December 1st, 2010. The first copy of the book was presented to RGV’s mother Suryavathi. The programme was attended by Jayasudha, Ravi Teja, B Gopal, Krishna Vamsi, Vijay Kumar of Emesco, etc.
Addressing the gathering Lagadapati Rajagopal said, “My friend Ram Gopal Varma used to observe the mentalities of the people during our college days. But I never expected that he would become such a big director. As far as I know him, he never caused pain to anyone and at the same time he wouldn’t remain calm if anyone attacks him. During our college days, we were great fans of Sridevi and we also used to like Jayasudha. WE used to watch Jayasudha’s films atleast 5 times. Even today she is as beautiful as she was during that period.”
Krishna Vamsi said, “Some incidents in life will change the entire life. Sometimes life will take a new turn by meeting some people. This is what exactly happened in my life when I met Ramu. During the making of ‘Siva’ I thought he was a very average person. But after watching the first copy of the film I understand who he was. I’m really lucky to meet one such person in my life.”
Jayasudha while speaking, “I’ve 25% of the nature of Ram Gopal Varma. I might also end up writing a book called ‘Naa Istam’ or something like that one fine day. When he invited me for the function, I questioned him why he dedicated the book to himself, instead he should have dedicated it to me. His answer was that I will understand only when I read the book why he dedicated the book to himself. This book is in Telugu. So people like me who cannot read Telugu cannot read this book.”
Ram Gopal Varma said, “Shiva gave a very good break in my life. But I’m feeling more thrilled today than when I got a break through Shiva. I still remember many incidents in my life. I remember having a chat with B Gopal while we were traveling in the car, my close friend Ravi Teja in Hyderabad and the most beautiful girl in Hyderabad Jayasudha. Me and Rajagopal used to watch her films for atleast 5 times. Many philosophers, books and mentalities of various people have changed me into a person like this. I wrote this book with their influence and my feelings. I wrote this book with my own interest and you all can read it with your own interest. I dedicated this book to myself because I love myself. I feel jealous of myself. I’ve never come across anyone whom I can love more than myself. That is the reason why I dedicated this book to myself. All good and bad experiences in my life is written in this book. I never lie and I enjoy life to the fullest extent. If you read this book you will prosper in life otherwise it’s your fate.”
