The South Mirchi Music Awards – 2011 is all set to take place on August 4th in Hyderabad for the first time. Over the last 2 years, only the most outstanding musicians have taken home the Radio Mirchi Awards. Now in it’s 3rd edition, the Radio Mirchi will continue to applaud those who have pushed the boundaries in South Indian Music. These awards will be chosen from 13 different musical genres separately in all four south Indian languages. In addition to these awards, the jury has decided to honor a musician with Life Time Achievement award who served the film music world selflessly. The jury was set separately for all four south Indian language films. While D Suresh Babu is the chairman for the Telugu Jury, Gangai Amaran is the chairman for the Tamil Jury, Hamsalekha for Kannada Jury and Kaithapram Damodharan Nambotri for Malayalam Jury. A press meet was held today to brief the details in which Radio Mirchi CEO Prashanth, D Suresh Babu, Koti, Chandra Bose, Tanikella Bharani, R P Patnaik, Ramana Gogula, K L Narayana, Ramajogayya Sastry, K M Radha Krishnan, Hamsa Raja, Sunita and Madhusudan participated.

Radio Mirchi CEO Prashanth while speaking, “We are very happy to organize this music awards which we have been conducting over the last 2 years. Since there is tremendous response from the south Indian film industries this time we have decided to make it as a grand event. The award winners were selected genuinely. In this regard we thank each and everyone who provided us complete support.”

Telugu Jury Chairman D Suresh Babu said, “Radio Mirchi is bringing the music fraternity on a unified platform to promote South Indian music and musicians. We are very happy to note that Radio Mirchi is conducting this award function for the 3rd time and I’m proud to represent as chairman of Telugu jury. I wish this award function will be greater than the previous ones.”

Singer Sunita, who is representing the event as jury member said that 15 songs have been selected from music albums released in 2012and that the awards will be given in 13 categories from these songs.

RP Patnaik said, “We have judged genuinely for the Radio Mirchi Life Time Achievement award and selected a musician who worked for 1000 films. However we will not reveal his name now.”
