'Life Savers' Book Launch
Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals & Nursing Homes Associations (APNA) the apex body in the state for smaller hospitals and nursing homes celebrated Doctors Day here in city at Hotel Katriya today i.e. Sunday July 8th. A book titled 'Life Savers - from the diary of a medical journalist" - a tribute to Doctors who dedicate their lives to the world of medicine penned by Ms. Madhavi Siddam was also released on the occasion.
Organised by APNA Greater Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy District Branch the Doctors Day Celebrations were graced by Dr. J. Geetha Reddy, Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce and Export Promotion, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Kondru Murali garu, Minister for Medical Education, APVVP & Hospital Services, Health, Family Welfare, Arogyasree, Health Insurance, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh and Padmabhushan Dr. Chiranjeevi, Member of Parliament. They also released the Book "Life Savers - from the diary of a medical journalist". About 400 doctors participated in the Celebrations.
Dr R.S. Saluja, State President of Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals & Nursing Homes Associations along with Dr. KGN Reddy, State General Secretary, Dr. Yadaiah, City President and Dr. G.N Reddy, City Secretary and other office bearers of APNA were present on the occasion. APNA has membership of over 7000 Smaller Hospitals and Nursing Homes all over the state and 1500 in the city. APNA aims to protect the interests of these members. It was formed in 1983.
This year Doctors Day Celebrations is marked by the launch of the book 'Life Savers - from the diary of a medical journalist" penned by Ms. Madhavi Siddam. She is a well known TV Medical Journalist working with NTV. She has been reporting on Medical Subjects and Anchoring a program for over a decade.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Madhavi Siddam, Author of the book said, Life Savers - from the diary of a medical journalist" is a tribute to Doctors who dedicate their lives to the world of medicine. This book is a comprehension of the lives of top doctors, having insight to their childhood, education, struggles they faced to establish in the field, their professional specialties, and their achievements with interesting anecdotes to give message to the society. With so many year of experience in Medical Journalist, I want to give something back to society in the form of a book, she said.
Our Association is too happy to get associated as it projects a positive side of the Medical fraternity. The effort is laudable. Doctor is a noble profession. Doctor is treated as a god. Vaidyo Narayano Hari (the doctor is next to god). The faith and trust that patients once had in doctors must be restored. There are many doctors who take their professional very nobler. But, that positive side we don't get to read too often. This book is a positive approach said Dr. R.S. Saluja.
