ANR Birthday Celebrations in NJ
It’s been a big time for Telugu movie lovers this Saturday Aug 18th, 2012 when they get a chance to meet their all time favorite hero Dr. Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu who is Dada Saheb award winner and Padma Vibhushan and many awards winner. He is a true legend of Telugu cinema. He has acted in variety of roles in approximately 255 movies of almost every genre. He had huge fan following and his humbleness and simplicity make him still look younger at the age of 89.
North East Region NRI’s under the leadership of Damu Gedala, felicitated Akkineni garu in a GRAND scale on the eve of successful completion of his 80 years of acting career. Srinivas Ganagoni, Program conductor executed the event professionally. More than 1500 fans gathered at Royal Albert Palace in Fords, NJ, USA this Saturday, Aug 18th, 2012 witnessed the grand gala event. The event is live telecasted in TV-09 and the delicious brunch for all the attendees is sponsored by Coriander Indian Cuisine.
Event started with melodious songs sung by Sri G. Anand (music director) and group of singers consists of Anjana Sowmya, Hari Vegesana, Baba Santyana, Vamsi Priya, Girija Kolluri, Krishna Rani, Lalitha Rani and Rajiv Neduri. Later kids from NJ Dance Schools danced for many songs from Akkineni movies. American National Anthem & Vandemataram is sung by Asha Yeluri and Akshay Yeluri prior to lightening of the lamp.
ANR started the main event by Lightening of the Lamp in presence of eminent personalities, Grand Sponsors of the event and community leaders such as Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula, Damu Gedala, Mohan Patalolla, Srinivas Ganagoni, Harikishan Eppanapally,Ravinder Thota, Laxmi Devineni, Albert Jesani, Ravi Kondabolu, Prasad Thotakura, Kondal Rao, Prof. Sudershan Achrya, YK Nageshwar Rao, and Ramarao Paluri.
Damu gedela the event coordinator rendered the opening words. Akkineni garu handed over ANR awards to Damu Gedala, Krishna Boppana,Ravindranath Gothikonda,Prof. Venkatrao Mulpuri,Mrs. Saroja Sagaram, Yugendararao Vallabaneni and Upendra Chivukula for their dedicated services towards the community. ANR also felicated the program conductor Srinivas Ganagoni and Grand Sponsors of the event Harikishan Eppanapally, Mohan Patalolla, Laxmi Devineni and Ravinder Thota to organize the event professionally.
Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula presented ANR with the special official citation from state of NJ. This came as true surprise and is first of its kind for a Telugu hero to get recognition from state of assembly for his acomplishments and contributions towards the Telugu film industry. Upendra Chivukula also launched the website of ANR www.natasamratakkineni.com on this auspicous ocasión. Later ANR is felicitated grandly by North East Region NRIs that consists of fans, well wishers and representatives from many Telugu organizations such as TANA, ATA, NATS, NATA, TFAS, TAGDV, Kalabharathi,CATS etc attended in the grand gala event.
ANR is overwhelmed by the grand felicitation and thanked one and all for such memorable event. He aplauded the kids performances and he reminded of his movies and the songs that he did with many heroines. ANR thanked the ladies over men especially for their loyal fan base through out his career. Audience were spell bound for his energy on stage. Akkineni actively said many words of thanks, He spoke briefly about his journey and thanked his fans for their well wishes which are protecting him as ever.
