Silk Mark expo Inaugurated By Vimala Narsimhan at Sri nagar Colony
Hyderabad , October 2012: Silk mark organization of india Hyderabad Chapter (Silk mark – An initiative of Central silk board, Ministry of Textiles , Govt of india ) Organised Silk Mark Expo2012, at Satya Sai Nigamagamam , Sri Nagar Colony , Hyderabad. The Expo will be on till 16th October . Smt Vimala Narsimhan , First Lady of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated exposition by lighting the lamp.
The Exhibition showcasing exquisite sarees and dresses in the pure silk collection are Kanjeevaram, Aarni , Plain printed / creape silk from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka; Kalamkari, Pochampalli, Dharmavaram, Gadwal and Upada from Andhra Pradesh; Baluchari, Kantha Embroidery, Madhubani, Sambalpuri and Patachitra from West Bengal and Orissa; ValKalam, Jamavar and pure Tanchoi from Varanasi and Kosa Silk / Tribal Prints from Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh Tasaar Silk Sarees & Dress Materials from Bihar and Jharkhand, Embroidery on Chinnon , Chiffon and Georgette from Kashmir and huge collection of Printed Silk Sarees from all over India.

The Silk Mark Expo at Hyderabad is the 7th in the series which will be held from 11h to 16th Oct. 2012 showcasing the entire range of pure silks hailing from remote weaving cluster of India under one roof by 50 participants from over 13 Indian states

Silk Mark organisation is committed to promote the Silk Mark Scheme by all possible positive means and make it a household name Among the consumers all the efforts of organising exhibitions and Awareness programmes are to remind the people the consumers of Silks to know their rights, protecting themselves from falling prey to some bunch of unscrupulous traders for short time gains instead of nurturing long term business relations. Coinciding with this SILK MARK EXPO-2012 SMOI is organized SILK MARK AWARENESS WALK ‘dedicating to all those who are involved in promoting and developing Indian silk Industry with dedication on behalf of entire population of Andhra Pradesh. Walk Started at ameerpet and Concluded at Satya sai Nigamagamam.
