art @ telangana Book Launch by CM KCR

Chief Minister Mr. K Chandra Shekar Rao releases the book of art @ telangana and Abdul Kalam is impressed with Art of Telangana

Hyderabad, 07th October 2014: The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana State, Mr. K. Chandra Shekar Rao, unveiled and released a book on Art of Telangana, titled art@telangana at the Metropolis world congress. This book comprises the art works of nearly 150 artists from Telangana State. The artworks in this book relate to over100 years of modern art from 1914 to 2014, which gives glimpse of the glorious art tradition and history of the art from Telangana State.

The first copy of the Book was presented by the Chief Minister Mr. K.ChandraShekarRao to Mr. Jean Paul Hunchon, the president of Metropolis. The book is published by a non-profitable trust comprised of B NarsingRao (noted filmmaker), LaxmanAeley (renowned Artist), Niranjan Reddy (prominent Lawyer) and BV Paparao (Former IAS officer).

Most of the artists figuring in the book took part in a 9 day art camp organized by art@telangana. These art works are displayed in the conference area of Metropolis congress at HICC.

To everybody’s surprise, briskly walking the former president Mr. Abdul Kalam stopped at the display of paintings. He was impressed with most of the paintings and one of the paintings grabbed his specific attention.

The painting which grabbed his attention was created by Gunda Anjaneyulu an upcoming artist from Nalgonda district. The former president madea reference to this painting in the opening remarks of his speech during the session.

To quote the former president, “ Friends when I was entering into this building A beautiful art attracted me. A still art – a metallic container with various shades of nature and divinity reflecting in it. “

He further stated, “Our city should be modern like a shining metal vessel (like in the painting) yet reflect the beauty of nature and purity of divinity (like in this painting)”.

Mr. LaxmanAeley one of the trustees of art @ telangana, Mr. Anand Gadapa, the narrator of the book and Ms. Vaidei Reddy CEO of the trust made frantic efforts to get the artist Gunda Anjaneyulu to the venue at HICC within 30mins to meet Mr. Abdul Kalam.
The former President was presented the painting by the trust and introduced the artist to him on stage. The trust, art @ telangana is happy that someone like Mr. Kalam not only makes an attention to an upcoming artist and relates his talk to the painting. The trust hopes such recognition comes to every artist of telangana.
