Billa Audio Review

‘Billa’ starring Prabhas, Anushka, Namitha is directed by Mehar Ramesh and produced by Krishnam Raju under Gopikrishna Movies banner. Mani Sharma composed the tunes for the film supported by Soundarajan’s cinematography which is said to be excellent. There are altogether six songs in the album along with the theme song. Lyrics for four songs are penned by Ramajogayya Sastry and one each by Mehar Ramesh and Bhaskara Bhatla.
Hariloranga Hari Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Mano, Ranjith, Kannan
Written by Ramajogayya Sastry, Hariloranga Hari song is sure an impressive one attracting the people from all walks of life. The song starts with hip hop hen giving feel of early morning chores which slowly turns into a folk kind and rejuvenates the listener’s attention due to its catchy lyrics. The uniqueness of this song is sure to make it the pick of the album. A fine track, indeed!
Ellora Shilpanni Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Rita
Ellora Shilpanni is Mani Sharma’s typical style of composition with fast beats and is a forgettable tune. Rita lent her voice for this sole number
Billa Theme Song Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Meher Ramesh Singer: Meher Ramesh
The specialty of this song is that it was written and sung by the film’s director Mehar Ramesh. It is a theme song but Mani Sharma has not tried anything new. Another passable number, it is not an exceptional one but the song might probably appear rich and attractive on silver screen.
Bommali Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Hemachandra, Malavika
‘Massala Mirchi Pilla’ is a mass number sung by Hemachandra and Malavika with an energetic feel. This song might appear bit interesting on screen and sounds situational bound. It has a foot tapping music and lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry are enjoyably passable.
Ne Pataasu Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Bhaskarabhatla Singer: Suchi, Ranjith
This is yet another well composed dance number on screen, but its lyrics by Bhaskara Bhatla is just average. Ranjith teams up with Suchi to deliver this number. Overall, it’s a passable track for the music lovers but may find a place in roadside tea stalls.
My Name is Billa Music: Manisharma Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry Singer: Ranjith, Naveen
My Name is Billa is a title track and is a fast paced number. The song starts well with the old style and continues with electrifying and energetic tune. Ranjith and Naveen are the efficient singers. The lyrics by Ramajogayya Sastry are just ok. Yet another time pass number for roadside vendors.
On the whole this album is not an impressive one for the music lovers, but, since the film is on action backdrop the songs might appear good on silver screen. Comparing to many of his past music albums, Mani Sharma simply failed to grab the listener’s attention, the first song being the exception. Therefore, the album turns out to be just an average.
