Pravarakhyudu - Keeravani's fragrance, a mix up

The super success of ‘Pellaina Kothalo' had led the trio Madan-Jagapathi Babu-Priyamani to come up with yet another family entertainer titled as ‘Pravarakhyudu’. This film is produced by Ganesh Indukuri under Tolly 2 Holly Films. The musical scores are composed by long time music director MM Keeravani, who gave plenty of memorable hits. To name a few – ‘Seetaramaiah Gari Manavaralu’, ‘Kshana Kshanam’, ‘Gharana Mogudu’, ‘Mr Pellam’, ‘Allari Priyudu’, ‘Pelli Sandadi’, ‘Annamayya’, ‘Student No. 1’, ‘Okariki Okaru’, ‘Nenunnanu’, ‘Anukokunda Oka Roju’, ‘Simhadri’, ‘Sri Ramadasu’, ‘Yamadonga’, ‘Pandurangadu’ and the recent ‘Magadheera’. Keeravani is the one of the leading and finest music composers in Telugu film industry who churns out hit music in classical, semi-classical, devotional, folk and western style. Now, I am very eager to listen to all five tracks and say that it’s superb, wonderful, and lovely.
Gaalamesi Pattina Chepa Music: M.M. Keeravani Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad Singer: Ranjith, Bhargavi Pillai
The first song of the album ‘Gaalamesi Pattina Chepa’ is set against the backdrop of college and starts off with catchy muted riff. The composition is very simple with cool instrumentation and the chorus in between spice up the music to the listener. Chaitanya Prasad’s stylish lyrics seem to be well executed aptly suiting the characters and bringing the situation alive. Ranjith makes a beginning and Bhargavi Pillai joins him later to add some flavor to the song. The tempo of the song is maintained perfectly till the end and it gives a feel to the listener to connect with at first listen. A fantastic start by Keeravani, cheers!!
Neela Neelimabbu Music: M.M. Keeravani Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad Singer: Sunitha
‘Neela Neelimabbu’ is a soft melody sung by Sunita. Keeravani composed this melodious piece with classic instrumentation which allows the song to be more enjoyable. Sunita’s vocals and the chorus in the middle-part carry the song with joy and a gentle swing. The entire song goes mildly with perfect harmonies but shifts gear and speeds up in the ending part. Overall, it is a good mellow, fresh to ears and picturesque composition.
Emai Poyano Music: M.M. Keeravani Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad Singer: Anuj Gurwara, Shivani
Ah! What a beautiful start? ‘The starting lyrics ‘Emaipoyano…Emaipothano’ touched my heart. Shravani’s charming tone blend with smooth flowing lyrics emphasizes the beautiful chord structure. Anuj Gurwara joins Shravani in the middle of the song for the English lines. The composition is elegant, distinctive, soothing, warm and very relaxing to hear. A feel good song with sweet harmonies that brings smiles on your face!
Cool Be Cool Music: M.M. Keeravani Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad Singer: Hemachandra, Geetha Madhuri
After listening to three beautiful soundtracks composed in three different themes, here comes a pop number sounding western style. The track starts with Hemachandra’s ‘La la la la’ vocals and the song lights up with the drowsy tone of Geetha Madhuri. This track appears to be a situational bound and may appeal to the front benchers in theaters. But folks, we cannot blame the music composers or the singers because when the story demands they too become helpless sometimes. Infact such songs also throw challenge to singers to prove their mettle.
Bangaram Music: M.M. Keeravani Lyrics: Chaitanya Prasad Singer: M.M. Keeravani, Geetha Madhuri
MM Keeravani ends the album with yet another soft and drowsy number. Chaitanya Prasad penned suitable lyrics for this drowsy song creating the situational mood in the film. Like in previous track, Geetha Madhuri’s vigorous voice is intensely dramatic in its expression. Keeravani joins Geetha in this rhythmical melody that gives the same mood in different senses.
I finally figured out some fine crafted music in the album. The first song is trendy and youthful and the next two carried the fragrance of beautiful melody. My final verdict is listen to first three standout tracks and skip the rest.
