Adhurs – Catchy & Youthful

“Adhurs”, the highly anticipated film in NTR-VV Vinayak combination is the third after ‘Aadi’ and ‘Samba’. NTR is playing the dual role and he shares the screen with two glam dolls – Nayantara and Sheela. Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan is producing “Adhurs” under Vaishnavi Arts banner and has music by Devisri Prasad. Devisri is one of the promising music directors who gave many musical hits till date. Therefore let me see if this album exceeds my expectations.
Shambho Shiva Shambho Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Devi Sri Prasad
The album starts off very well with repeated words ‘Hip Hop…hip hop’. Devisri appears to capture the hearts once again with this album. ‘Shambo Shiva Shambo’ has got a catchy set of lyrics switching between three languages – English, Hindi and Telugu. Devisri renders the vocals in a very peculiar style. The synchronization has been splendidly executed and the sound engineering lends extra-ordinary flavor to the track thus forcing us to go for repeat listens. A fantastic start indeed!
Chandrakala Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Shastry Singer: Hariharan , Rita
‘Chandrakala’ is a beautiful romantic number. Hariharan’s lively voice gave a lift to the song. Rita supports him with her stylish vocals and its feel good effect is noticeable throughout the song. Mellifluous Indian cum western music along with vocalists’ voice, chorus and steady drum beats will elicit the dance steps from the listener. Yes! Devisri Prasad knows to bring out the kind of mood from the listener through his distinctive style of composition. This song will surely boost up the dull mood.
Pilla Naa Valla Kaadu Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: MikaMika Singh, Suchitra
Devi used heavy beats and hand clapping theme through out the track, brought the song into life with his skills and turned into an energetic dance number which eventually makes the listener enjoy. According to Devi’s requirements Chandra Bose has provided the lyrics in mixed languages. Even though the beats are interesting I could not enjoy Milka Singh’s vocals to the fullest extent only because I found the absence of nativity. It was more like a Punjabi song than Telugu. I strictly recommend this song for dance competitors as they can try some good moves.
Chary Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: NTR, Rita
The song starts off with a guitar being played mixing the rhythmic drums. Interestingly the lyrics are penned by three song writers. The lyrics “Where is the pancha kattu, where is the pilaka juttu where is the niluva bottu Chari…I like this suit boot, I like this French cut, I like this Gulf scentu Pori….” is funny, catchy and youthful! One has to appreciate NTR for accepting this challenge with the rest of the band. His vocals along with Rita and chorus will establish the joyous mood. Devisri knows to catch the pulse of listeners therefore most of his compositions have a steady beat, supported by other orchestral instruments such as guitar, keyboards, synthesizer, electronic drums, saxophone, flute, etc. And obviously this song captured my attention in first listen and am pretty sure that it’s gonna be a bit hit.
Neethone Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Kunal Ganjawala, Shreya Ghoshal
This is a fast paced duet song and has the beautiful lyrics “Na Kallalona Choopulu Neethone….” written by Chandra Bose. As I mentioned before this song also kick starts with a steady beat with interesting orchestral synchronisation. The vocals are rendered by Shreya Ghosal and Kunal Ganjawala. But I feel our composers should try the local voices. After all the great singers like Gantasala, SPB, P Suseela and S Janaki hail from our state only. And I am confident that we do have great singers even in present generation. Hence they should be given more opportunities to prove their skills.
Assalaam Valekhum Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Ramajogayya Shastry Singer: Baba Sehgal, Priya Hemesh
“Adhurs…Adhurs…..Adhurs…..Assalaam Valekhum” is a foot tapping danceable number with tri-lingual lyrics. Chandra Bose penned the lyrics by mixing words from Telugu, Urdu and English languages. Baba Sehgal and Priya Hemesh sang this number. This energetic track is as interesting and unique as the title of the film. It is sure to attract all the listeners and rock all the chartbusters.
Shiva Shambho (The DSP Mix) Music: Devi Sri Prasad Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Devi Sri Prasad
This track is the repeat version of the first track of the album ‘Shiva Shambho’. As usual Devisri ends the album with remixed fast paced track.
Devisri Prasad once more came up with some interesting tunes. I normally prefer soft melodious music. Since “Shiva Shambho”, “Chari” and “Adhurs” has been such fun and pleasure, they instantly caught my attention. In the end, this is yet another good, but not a great album from Devisri.
