Komaram Puli - Experience the rich, dynamic and in-depth music

‘Komaram Puli’ is the much awaited film coming up in the combination of Pawan Kalyan-SJ Suryah. Everyone is aware that their earlier film ‘Khushi’ that was released a decade ago is a huge musical hit. Musical scores for 'Khushi' was then provided by Manisharma. And now, when the duo joined hands with the Oscar & Grammy winner AR Rahman, it is quite natural for the expectations to touch the sky. Yep! I’m proud to present my review on this product delivered from the hands of a great musician.
Power Star Music: A.R. Rahman Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Vijay Prakash, Tanvi Shah
Yes! The album starts with ‘Power Star’ that sounds like a big bang. Although the lyrics are forgettable, the echo of vocals gives the song energetic, rhythmic and interesting sound. While Vijay Prakash was at his usual, Tanvi’s voice was changed according to drum loops, tempo and special effects. This is typical AR Rahman track with loud high pitch squealing sounds and high pitch voices that belongs to rock genre.
Amma Thale Music: A.R. Rahman Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Naresh Iyer, Swetha Mohan
‘Ekkada Ekkada Ekkada Ekkada Ekkada Ekkada Ekkada Daakkunnave Luckulu Thechche Chukka’ from ‘Ladies Taylor’, ‘Eppudeppudeppudani Adigina Vayasuku Kalyanam Raagam’ from ‘Nirnayam’, etc., these kind of fast lyrical vocals have been introduced by music maestro Ilayaraja. Now, the music emperor AR Rahman followed his guru’s style in composing this song, but even faster than the above mentioned songs. I listened to this song for more than ten times just to grasp the lyrics ‘Oy Sootiki Sootiki Neetuku Neetuku Naatuku Poyina Choopulu Guttulu’ but it gave the utmost joy. Chandra Bose penned awesome lyrics and Swetha Mohan was simply amazing in her performance, though Naresh Iyer was not clear in pronouncing the words here and there. Like for instance, he pronounced it as Noti Muthchal instead of Noti Muthyal. It’s AR Rahman’s usual style to build the beat with drum loop along chorus in the background. What a song!! An incredible track for repeat listens. I recommend you all to Listen…..Listen……Listen……Keep Listening….still you would never feel bored.
Maaralante Music: A.R. Rahman Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: A.R. Rahman, KMMC
This is yet another fast track with inspirational lyrics on social cause written by Chandra Bose. ‘Maaralante Lokham’ embodies AR Rahman’s distinctive vocal style and is full of passion and emotion. With the style of drumming beats and background chorus, this high-pitched track sounds good and decent in terms of volume levels too.
Maham Maaye Music: A.R. Rahman Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Javed Ali, Suchitra
Aah! What a start? I simply love the way this track begins. Javed Ali starts his vocals ‘O Chakumuke O Chakumuke’ and Suchitra joins him later. This is a danceable track indeed with truly stunning beats and crystal clear sound. The hand cymbal sound that flows throughout the track is unique and good to ears. An outstanding product indeed!
Dochey Music: A.R. Rahman Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Shreya Goshal, Lady Kash N Krissy
Just listen to this track and you will understand that drummers can be so much more than the supporting band players. In my opinion AR Rahman only can play the rock drums so differently among all other musicians in India. This apart, he is also known to add unique voices to music. Shreya Goshal is one of those great singers who has a huge vocal range and can sing everything in tune. This song ‘Dochey Dorikindhi Dochey’ sung by her is supported by another jazz singer Lady Kash N Krissy who is equally perfect.
Nammakame Music: A.R. Rahman Lyrics: Chandrabose Singer: Chitra, Madhushree, Harini
Nammakameeyara Swamy, Nirbhayameeyara Swamy, Sanmargamedho Choopara Swamy Sugnayana Sooryuni Malo Veliginchara’ is a beautifully composed song. The lyrics are wonderfully written by Chandra Bose. It’s a prayer song with sweet vocals rendered by Chitra, supported by Madhusree and Harini. Sung in slow tempo by the vocalists, this song will give you a good feel if you are in depressed mood. Finally AR Rahman ends ‘Komaram Puli’ album with a classic track.
What else can I say after listening to this fantastic album. It’s rich, it’s dynamic, it’s powerful, it’s fun and simply amazing. Although we have heard of many incredible sound tracks of AR Rahman in the past, this being his direct Telugu film album, the identity will surely stand out.
