Telugammayi - Telugammayi & Pairagali are good

‘Telugammayi’ may not be a pacy and dancy for the youth, but Vandemataram Srinivas is a true composer who comes out with an album consisting songs from four different genres. This female centric film starring Saloni in title role is directed by Raja Vannemreddy and produced by Vanapalli Babu Rao under Vaishnavi Movies banner. Having heard Vandematharam Srinivas’s music several times, you should experience his music yet another time. It’s a small CD with just 4 songs. Here we go!
Telugammaye Music: Vandemataram Srinivas Lyrics: Anantha Sriram Singer: Parinika, Revathi, Srinidhi
The CD opens with hauntingly beautiful title song in a traditional style. Sung by Parinika, Revathi and Srinidhi, the song is very sweet and adorable and also beautifully written by Anantha Sriram. The lyrics ‘Telugammayi Telugammayi Chirunavvullo Virisannayi…’ give a native feel. The music enriches the entire composition and soothes your ears.
Kathilanti Kurradu Music: Vandemataram Srinivas Lyrics: Anantha Sriram Singer: Sravana Bhargavi, Sandeep
‘Kathilanti Kurradu..’ is a good country song that has a good driving beat with good chorus. The tune is catchy and easily hummable rhythm. The lyrics add a charm. While Sravana Bhargavi compliments her vocal most brilliantly, Sandeep is at his usual caressing best.
Enninallura Music: Vandemataram Srinivas Lyrics: Anantha Sriram Singer: K.J. Yesudas
Next comes the emotional song. ‘Enninallura Inkennenellura Mana Charitralo Niranthanam Stree ki Vedhana, Enninallura Inkennenellura Ee Dharithrilo Ilaaga Ee Purushavaanchana….’ reminds me of the song ‘Ee Duryodhana Dussaasana Durvineeta Lokamlo…’ from 1985 ‘Prathighatana’ which was composed by music director Chakravarthy. Vandemataram Srinivas is also well known to compose emotional songs that make you cry. Anantha Sriram’s lyrics in this song match the standards of Late Sri Veturi Sundararamamurthy. Another notable aspect of this song is that K J Yesudas is all brilliance in this sad song. The song sounds very Vandemataram Srinivas.
Pairagali Music: Vandemataram Srinivas Lyrics: Anantha Sriram Singer: Chaitra, Siddartha, Kousik Kalyan
‘Pairagali…’ is an acoustic folk country song with a touch of Telangana flavour. The tune is imminently catchy and adds dancing prowess. This song again brings Srinivas’s masterful abilities. Some wonderful lines by Anantha Sriram with wonderful finger snap sounds and competent singing adds a charm. Chaitra does her best and so do Siddhartha and Koushik Kalyan in supportive roles. Anantha Sriram’s lyrics make the song a winner all the way.
‘Telugammayi’ maintains constant pace throughout the album. Although the tunes are not exceptional, overall the album is good. ‘Telugammayi’ and ‘Pairagali’ will be popular.
