The much hyped film ‘King’, starring Nagarjuna, Trisha and Mamta Mohandas under Sreenu Vytla’s direction, is all set to hit the theatres world wide on December 25, the Christmas Day. Having generated keen interest among general audience by his hits like ‘Dhee’, Dubai Sreenu’ and ‘Ready’, Nag’s fans are eagerly awaiting to see his efforts pay rich dividends for their hero. The association between Nag and D Siva Prasad Reddy is well known in the industry and that has also been a success story all through. Here again they have joined hands.

This film is really going to be a challenging one for Sreenu Vytla, the most promising director in Tollywood today. Normally banking on young heroes Sreenu Vytla tried for first time with Megastar and failed. This is his second project with a senior hero. Hope he will not have jinx attached to it. Directing a film in his own style and balancing the hero’s image is a Herculean task for a director of this stature who has not done many films with macro heroes. A real challenge, indeed!

It’s widely opined that Sreenu Vytla possesses a rare ability of reading the pulse of the audience and accordingly he appears to have secret association with his trump card Brahmanandam. Comedy in today’s movies play very vital role in attracting the audience. And Sreenu Vytla picked the thread in a right manner and has projected Brahmanandam in all his movies in a very acceptable way. Here again it is Brahmanandam’s role apart from Nag’s roles that is expected to register in the minds of audience. So we can expect fun filled performance from the comedy king Brahmanandam who plays a music director. Srihari’s Don role, Gnaneswar also will add flavour.

For the first time Nagarjuna would be appearing in three get-ups – King, Sarath and Bottu Sreenu. Here, as a director Sreenu Vytla claims to have identified three vital faces of Nag – the royal, the class and the mass. While we know his mass and class faces independently, we need to see the movie to understand his royal face. This attempt of director is indeed a correct one as Nag always displays the ability of being a director’s special. Take ‘Geetanjali’ of Maniratnam, it’s Maniratnam seen more than Nag, not to say of the movies like RGV’s ‘Siva’, K Raghavendra Rao’s ‘Annamayya’, EVV Satyanarayana’s ‘Hello Brothers’, Puri Jagan’s ‘Sivamani’ and many more, were directors faces and abilities are well brought out by the impeccable role played by Nagarjuna.

When it comes to heroines, Trisha might steal the show due to her various successful roles and popularity. She, no doubt is a queen of expressions and darling of young hearts. Her glamorous songs are for sure an attraction. Mamta Mohandas, plays the second lead apart from lending her voice to a couple of songs. This apart, six more glam dolls like Anushka, Priyamani, Charmi, Genelia, Kamna Jetmalani and Sneha Ullal graced with their presence in a special song ‘Nenu ready…Nuvvu ready’.

Coming to the music department, Devisri Prasad did a decent job, though not his best as in ‘Anandam’ which is still afresh in people’s minds. If one has to go by the stills released on web, Prasad Murella’s camera might score very high marks for the splendid work.

Therefore to sum up the highlights of the movie will be Nag’s power packed performance, Sreenu Vytla’s screenplay and his success formula, Trisha’s contribution, Brahmanandam’s comedyand DSP’s music apart from Nag’s fans expectations will surely make this movie earn its value. Let’s wait for few more hours to put to test all these highlights.
