On the eve of completion of 25 years
in Telugu film industry, writer cum actor Tanikella Bharani
was felicitated by Sangham Academy at Ravindra Bharati Staduim, Hyderabad.

The function started off with the launch of the book ‘Nakshatra Darsanam’ written by Tanikella Bharani. Prakash Raj unveiled the book and the first copy of it was received by Dr Brahmanandam. The special edition ‘Vendi Pandaga’ was unveiled by Balakrishna. Later a Kanakabhishekam was performed to Tanikella Bharani.
Addressing the gathering Balakrishna said, “Entertaining the audience with his performance is a born talent for an artist. There are various talents in artists. Bharani is the pride of Telugu cinema with acting and writing skills. In a book titled ‘Atagadara Siva’ he wrote how important it is to have belief in God. He has good emotions, thus he turned director and directed the film ‘Sira’ in order to take Telugu cinema to the international level. On this occasion I thank Sangham Academy for recognizing his talents and felicitating him.”
SP Balasubrahmaniam said, “We are associated with each other for the past 25 years. It’s very unfortunate that the Telugu film industry did not utilize his talent in a proper manner. Tanikella Bharani is a good human being, devotee of Lord Shiva, he has to write more. It’s since long time I’ve seen one such wonderful function. It appears like a festival to me.”
Ram Gopal Varma said, “When I started the making of my first film ‘Shiva’, it was Tanikella Bharani who I met first. He is one of my close associates in film industry.”
Prakash Raj said, “Tanikella Bharani understood Lord Shiva and life as well. We are good literature friends. We used to exchange Tamil and Telugu literatures. By doing I generated awareness in Telugu literature.”
Venkatesh said, “Bharani worked as a dialogue writer for my film ‘Varasudochadu’, after which we have worked together in many films. Those who are closely associated with him only will understand his good human nature.”
Dr Brahmanandam said, “Tanikella Bharani is a multi-talented person. He is like a Jasmine flower, who has clarity in every work he does. He wrote many books. But his ‘Nakshatra Darsanam’ will tell about many film stars. He is like a magnet who attracts people with his friendly nature.”
Kodi Ramakrishna said, “I saw Tanikella Bharani on the same stage some years ago when he was performing a stage show called ‘Kokorako’. He provided many scripts for me. He is our Palakollu Alludu. His 25 years journey in film industry is not an easy thing.”
Parachuri Venkateswara Rao said, “Tanikella Bharani is like a Kumkuma Bharani. I wish him to continue to write many more good books in future also.”
Dr KV Ramana Chari said, “Our friendship is also 25 years old. He is the multi-talented person who aims at National and International recognition for Telugu cinema.”
Tanikella Bharani while speaking, “A Tamil poet said that one cannot be born as a Telugu speaking person unless he meditates for long. I may have become a rowdy if I had not turned actor. We are 7 brothers. My elder brother had influenced me to develop interest on literature. I’m blessed with good teachers and good students as well. It’s quite natural to be a good human being when I’m surrounded with so many good people. So many people have come from various places for this function and there are many legends amongst them. They all are taking care of me right from the beginning. Today, they all have blessed me in this temple called Ravindra Bharathi. I wish that every poet in Andhra Pradesh will be honored with Kanakabhishekam. Therefore from now onwards I decided to honor one poet with Kanakabhishekam on my birthday every year.”
Chief Minister K Roshaiah in his message said that Tanikella Bharani should work for the welfare of the Telugu language and take Telugu cinema to the international level.
