Shankar is known for mega budgeted films and the recent success of ‘Robo’ is digging deep into the producers’ pockets who want to consider him for their films. The present example of fixing a very high remuneration to a heroine who has not given any notable hits in the recent past is seen as a sign of high-handedness or is it like setting standards?
Ileana is of course a well-known name in Telugu film industry and her acting abilities no doubt are appreciable. But it is in general a trend in the industry that the one’s with good success record do command the hefty pay packet and also increments. But in Ileana’s case it is different. Her films ‘Rechipo’ and ‘Saleem’ in 2009 did not fare well at box office and after which it’s a pretty long gap before Puri Jagannath signed her for ‘Nenu Naa Rakshashi’ which is still under production.
These failures and long gap between movies did not deter the producer of Shankar’s remake of ‘3 Idiots’. He has readily accepted a remuneration of about Rs 1.75 crores to Ileana to do this movie in two languages. Is there any hidden secret that we are not privy to?
