Director K S Ravi Kumar, who is currently busy with his latest film ‘Rana’ with Rajnikanth on Friday called the media personnel in Chennai to clarify about the news that is spreading around the net and newspapers. He said that they have not approached Rekha at all for the role in the film. He confirmed that so far they have signed only Deepika Padukone and that they are in talks with Ileana and Vidya Balan for the other two female lead roles.
Filmmaker K S Ravi Kumar clarifies the status of his current project ‘Rana’ starring Rajnikanth. Well, as per the sources Rajnikanth is going to essay 3 roles in the film. And for quite some time there have been speculations about who will play the female leads. While the names of Deepika Padukone, Rekha, Vidya Balan, Ileana, etc., popped up, Ravi Kumar clarifies that except Deepika no one else has been finalised.
On Friday he spoke to the Chennai media about the false report widely spread by them and said any news regarding Rekha doing a role in the film is not genuine. He said, “There is no truth in the news that we have approached Rekha to do a role in the film. We have so far signed Deepika Padukone only and we are in talks with Vidya Balan and Ileana for the other two female lead roles.”
According to him, the story of ‘Rana’ is on the backdrop of 17th century. The film will have Rajni’s usual punch dialogues and its budget cost is Rs 100 crores. Rajnikanth’s younger daughter Soundarya Rajnikanth and Eros International have joined hands to produce this film.
