Trisha’s legs pain…courtesy public demand
Apr 15, 2011
In the day of equals Trisha, the matinee idol and dream girl of many learnt it a hard way that she is yet another citizen. She happened to visit the polling booth in Chennai along with her mom and grandma to vote for the Assembly elections. As could happen anywhere she chose not to stand in the queue, instead go directly and cast the vote. It is generally permitted for people with public attention to avoid crowd gathering to have a glimpse of their beloved one. Here again most of the people in the queue were too willing to let her pass except one woman who pulled Trisha back and refused to let her jump the queue and demanded that she join the queue. Words were exchanged leading to police intervention. While Trisha’s grandma could succeed jumping the queue because of her age, Trisha and her mother had to stick to the basics, i.e., joining the queue and casting the vote. This is a rare phenomenon where the celebrities are given a special status for different reasons. Will this incident create a precedence?
