Shruti Haasan backs off Dammu

Shruti Haasan, who is currently doing three films in Telugu - ‘Oh My Friend’ with Siddharth, ‘Gabbar Singh’ opposite Pawan Kalyan and ‘Dammu’ with NTR, has opted out of NTR’s ‘Dammu’ after shooting for the film for 10 days. Not that she doesn’t want to act in that film, it appears Shruti has the dates problems with the result that the director Boyapati Sreenu and producer K S Rama Rao are now busy in searching for a new heroine. The reason for her backing off the project was NTR stopped the shooting of ‘Dammu’ in order to give his full attention to his recently released ’Oosaravelli’. However, Shruti could not wait any longer as the call sheets she has given for this film got wasted. Hence the actress was forced to reject this film as she has already allotted the dates to her other films in Telugu and Tamil. The new shooting schedule of ‘Dammu’ will commence from this month end.

Dr Rajendra Prasad’s new film ‘Cinemakeldam Randi’ is being directed by MMG Reddy and produced by Sunita Paladugu and Seeta Nekkanti under Sri Productions banner. A press meet was held at a private bungalow in Madhapur today.
