Recently, Andhra Pradesh government announced Nandi awards which have been criticized. Now in the latest, Hormones movie director and producers made controversial statements. ‘Hormones’ which was directed by Anand Eslavat and produced by NS Nayak on Banjara Movies banner, was released in 2012. Director has carved out the film on social perspective with three points - farmer, medicine and electricity. Megastar Chiranjeevi watched the film which was set in the backdrop of village adoption, and given his support. Megastar praised the film and appreciated the team for making such a film when he graced the audio launch of the film. Meanwhile, in 2012, the film has been applied for national integrity category by paying Rs 10,000. Along with this film, there was only one film ‘August 15 Rathri’ was there in that category. But, jury committee has kept the two film aside. The director and producers of the film arranged press meet to point out the issue.

Speaking at the press meet, director Anand said, “Chiranjeevi garu, when watched our film ‘Hormones’, praised it saying it reminds him of his first film ‘Punadi Rallu’. But, the jury committee chairperson didn’t even watch the film. Only jury members watched and didn’t comment. When we questions about that, they insulted us. We have taken this issue to government notice also, but no use. It took four months to gather the information. It is the high time to cancel 2012 committee and form a new committee, so that good film will get perfect justice.”

Producer NS Nayak said, “Many of the award winners belong to their relatives and friends. If that is the case, why are they asking us to give applications? No one will question them if they give awards to their beloved ones without giving notifications. All bigwigs in the film industry are continuing in big positions. No one will come forward if any injustice happens. I doubt, they are not aware of the audiences’ comments outside. It is the high time to cancel 2012 committee and form a new committee and should take suitable actions to send all films again for screening.”
