‘Rangula Ratnam’ which is made under prestigious production house Annapurna Studios, is gearing up for Sankranthi release. On this occasion the film unit interacted with media in a press meet. Chitra Shukla of ‘Maa Abbayi’ fame has paired up with Raj Tarun. The film is directed by Sri Ranjani. The film has music by Sricharan Pakala. The film also features Sitara and Priyadarshi in important roles.

Speaking at the press meet, director Sri Ranjani said, “The trailer of ‘Rangula Ratnam’ has got very good response. This is my first film and I am very happy that I am being introduced as director through a prestigious banner like Annapurna Studios. I can’t find the words to express. Earlier I have worked as an associate director at Selvaraghavan for 9 years. Coming to the story, it’s a sweet and cute love story. Generally, we find few conflicts in every love story. This love story also has some conflicts. I have narrated the script to Tamil heroes as well. They were very impressed but asked some time. Then I decided to try in Telugu. Cinematographer Madhi garu narrated the script to at director Rajeevan garu. He was very impressed and suggested us to meet Annapurna Studios. Then I met Supriya garu. She has taken the script to Nagarjuna garu and this is how we started the project. When Supriya garu suggested Raj Tarun’s name, I too felt that he is perfect apt to the story. We did auditions for heroin and selected Chitra Shukla. All girls know what guys do. The story of the film is from guy's point of view.”

Chitra Shukla said, “This is my second film in Telugu. I am very happy that I got the opportunity to work under Annapurna Studios banner. I play girl-next-door character who also takes up family responsibilities. Raj Tarun is a nice co-star. Working with him is a wonderful experience. He has given lot of support during shooting. I didn’t find any difficulty while working under Ranjani garu’s direction. She would explain us before shooting every scene.”
