‘Yatra’ shooting in brisk progress

The shoot for ‘Yatra’ - The biopic on the late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Rajasekhar Reddy, is going on at a brisk pace. Directed by Mahi Raghav of ‘Bhale Manchi Roju’ and ‘Anando Brahma’ fame, ‘Yatra’ features Malayalam Superstar Mammootty playing the YSR. The film is being produced jointly by Vijay Chilla and Shashidevi Reddy under 70 MM Entertainments banner.

Updating the progress of the film, producers said, “Mahi Raghav has readied the story with all emotions. Malayalam Superstar Mammootty has dwelled into the role perfectly. Mammootty has taken due care, right from his getup to modulation, to remind the people of late Chief Minister YSR, who is one of the most respected leaders in Telugu states. We are making the film with huge budget with emotional content based on some events in YSR’s life leading to famous walkathon ‘Pada Yatra’. After launching the teaser, we are receiving many phone calls from YSR fans and they got emotional. We are extremely confident that we will bring perfect output to the public.”

The 56 second teaser depicting the characterisation of Dr. YS Rajasekhar Reddy was released on the occasion of birth anniversary of the late late chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Rajasekhar Reddy. “I want to know...I want to listen...I want to visit every house beyond Kadapa...I want to walk along with the people..I want to listen to their heartbeats...If I succeed, they say it would be due to stubbornness, if I fail, they say it is stupidity...Yes...This Padayatra is my stupidity...But that’s a call I leave history to take,” says the voiceover.

Jagapathi Babu, Rao Ramesh, Suhasini Maniratnam, Bhumika and Anasuya will be seen in prominent roles.
