Veteran director BLV Prasad passes away

Tollywood has lost another veteran director on Saturday. Director BLV Prasad aka Beeram Leela Vara Prasad, known for his films like ‘Mayagadu’, ‘Vishnu’, ‘Bandipotu’ and ‘Ugranetrudu’, passed away at the age of 57. Reports say that he took his last breath on Saturday night at his residence in Hyderabad after being in coma for about 3 years. BLV Prasad is survived with wife Lakshmi, son Sudhakar and daughter Geeta Supriya. President of AP Film Chamber Tammareddy Bharadwaja, Relangi Narasimha Rao and few other film personalities attended the final rituals which were performed on Sunday.

BLV Prasad entered into film industry as the assistant to prominent director KSR Daas and later directed 23 films in Telugu including ‘Vishnu’ with Krishna, ‘Mayagadu’ with Mohan Babu and ‘Mayadari Maridhi’ with Suman. He also directed films with prominent heroes in Hindi, Tamil and Kannada languages. He worked with Bollywood stars like Dharmendra, Mithun Chakravarthy and Shatrughan Sinha also.
