It was an emotional moment for Trisha when SIIMA today announced an award for her for “10 Years of Excellence in Cinema” at 2013 SIIMA Awards to be held in UAE on September 12 & 13. Soon after the news broke her twitter account has been flooded with congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers.

Trisha, born and raised in Chennai, entered the movie world with a small role as Simran’s friend in 1999 ‘Jodi’. Later she signed Priyadarshan’s directorial venture ‘Lesa Lesa’ but her first release was ‘Mounam Pesiyadhe’ opposite Surya 2002. ‘Saamy’ directed by Hari gave good break to Trisha along with Vikram in Tamil. Although Trisha was introduced to the Telugu audience with ‘Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu’ (Enakku 20 Unakku 18 in Tamil), the biggest break she got was through MS Raju’s ‘Varsham’ with the film becoming the biggest box-office success. After that there was no stopping her persuit of stardom in both Telugu and Tamil with super hit films like ‘Ghilli’ (Tamil), ‘Thirupaachi’ (Tamil), ‘Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana’, ‘Athadu’, ‘Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule’, ‘Unakkum Enakkum’ (Tamil), ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ (Tamil), ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’ (Tamil), ‘Krishna’, ‘Kireedam’ (Tamil), ‘King’, ‘Namo Venkatesa’, ‘Mankatha’ (Tamil), etc.

Trisha with cute and naughty facial expressions won many young hearts in both Telugu and Tamil. She tried her hand in Bollywood with Priyadarshan’s ‘Katta Meetha’ but failed to make a strong first impression. Hence she returned back and continued her career in the south. She is currently working for three Tamil films and one Telugu movie ‘Rambha Urvasi Menaka’, which is incidentally M S Raju’s fourth production venture with her.

Trisha won three filmfare awards, all for Telugu movies – ‘Varsham’, NVNV and AMAV. For the first time she is winning the SIIMA award, which she considers it as her most prestigious award. Ragalahari takes this opportunity to congratulate Trisha on winning a prestigious award.
