The Andhra Pradesh government today announced two prestigious awards - NTR National Award and Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for the year 2007. While Dr Dasari Narayana Rao is the proud recipient of NTR National Award for his contribution to the Telugu film industry such as director, actor, writer, distributor and producer, Sr producer Tammareddy Krishnamurthy will receive Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for his contribution to the development of Telugu film industry.
Dasari directed the highest number of films in the world and entered his name into Guinness Book of World Records. Films like Thatha Manavadu, Megha Sandesam, Swargam Narakam earned him awards. He also directed many films on female centric subjects. Mamagaaru and Osey Ramulamma are the two films in which he has shown his tremendous acting skills. This apart, the two films which played prominent roles for NTR’s political entry were, Bobbili Raja and Sardar Paparayudu.
On other hand, Tammareddy Krishnamurthy, has many hits to his credit like, Bangaru Gajulu, Lakshadikari and Dharmadata under his banner Ravindra Art Pictures. He had produced many films with NTR, ANR and Shoban Babu. The film ‘Dharmadata’, in which ANR portrayed a dual role became a huge hit which ran more than 100 days.
