‘Dasavatharam’ is in mess again

Right from the beginning of making of ‘Dasavatharam’, it has been facing some controversy or the other. Earlier a person filed a case against Kamal stating that the script of ‘Dasavatharam’ was his own. Now after coming out of all the hurdles, one more problem occurred for the film, i.e., the President of the International Sri Vaishnava Dharma Samrakshana Society filed a petition to the Madras High Court stating that the film ‘Dasavatharam’ was a device to condemn Hinduism. Hence it persuaded the Censor Board to remove the offensive scenes, such as the collision between Saivites and Vaishnavites which formed the theme of the story.

The trailer of the film which was telecast on May 1st in Kalaignar TV had outraged the sentiments of Vaishnavites, as the Vaishnavism preaches the non-violence, tolenrance and humility.

However, the objection by the petitioner was restricted to the violent scenes and the role of Sri Ramanujar.
