Speaking about herself, Saloni said, “I started my career as a model in Mumbai. In 2003, I made my debut as heroine through a Bollywood flick ‘Dil Paradesi Ho Gaya’. Then I got the opportunity in the south through ‘Dhana 51’ and later did films like ‘Rehguzar’ in Hindi, ‘Chukkallo Chandrudu’ in Telugu, ‘Budhivantha’, ‘Dubai Babu’, ‘Mr Theertha’ in Kannada and ‘Madhuraiveeran’ in Tamil.
Narrating the story of Maryada Ramanna: “My character’s name is Aparna. One fine day she meets Ramu (Sunil) in the train while returning to her village after the completion of her education. Ramu too lands in the same village on his personal work. Later how the relationship between the two developed and what kind of hurdles did they face due to it is the film all about. The entire film is showcases the traditional style of Rayalaseema region. It’s blend with comedy and emotions.”
Giving her opinion on director Rajamouli she said, “While people in general know Rajamouli as a director only, very few are aware that he is a good actor too. He is the director who would never compromise on perfection. He would communicate what he needs by performing the same and get exact result. I tried my level best to match his frequency in this film. I can never forget the compliment he gave me during the making of ‘Magadheera’. He said that my performance satisfied him more than what he expected from me.”
About music: “Keeravani garu rendered excellent music. His music is an asset to the film. The song on my name ‘Raaye Raaye Saloni’ is my favourite. ‘Maryada Ramanna’ is a complete family entertainer. It’s indeed a visual treat to all.”
About her opportunity in “Maryada Ramanna”: “I worked with Rajamouli in ‘Magadheera’ just for about two to three days as I played a guest role. Even though my role was short I was too excited to work with him during that time only. I still cannot believe that I finally did a full length role in ‘Maryada Ramanna’ under his direction. This is the most unforgettable event happened in my film career.”
Sharing her working experience with Sunil she said, “Sunil is a marvelous actor and a wonderful human being. I’m a big fan of him. I worked with him in ‘Chukkallo Chandrudu’ in the past. But now in this film I’m a heroine opposite him. His performance in ‘Andala Ramudu’ was simply superb. He is also a great dancer. I’ve three songs with him in this film.”
About her experience in Kannada film industry: “My Kannada film ‘Budhivantha’ was a big hit after which I got the opportunity to work with Upendra in ‘Dubai Babu’. But I was a little upset with the attitude of producers of my 3rd film ‘Mr Theertha’. They neither included me in the promotion of the film nor did they invite me during its release time. So I distanced myself from Kannada for quite sometime.”
About her rapport with Arka Media producers: “This is like my second innings. I thank my producers Prasad and Shobhu for their wonderful support. I’m lucky to get such fabulous producers. I’ll be more than happy if the audiences are pleased with my performance in ‘Maryada Ramanna’.”
She concluded by saying, “Right now my concentration is on ‘Maryada Ramanna’ only. So far I’ve not accepted any other film. Discussions are on process.”
