Natti Kumar quits Film Chamber, blames big producers

Natti Kumar has resigned as the Joint Secretary of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. The producer-distributor-exhibitor has also quit the Executive Committee of the film body.

In his resignation letter, Natti Kumar accused five big producers of preventing the release of films after the lifting of the lockdown. "Theaters were shut down since March. After the lockdown was lifted, exhibitors, small producers, workers and others dependent on films for their livelihood heaved a sigh of relief. However, big producers have placed demands on theatres, asking them to increase the share of producers in revenue, etc. Those who have put forward the demands are among those wielding clout in the exhibitor sector," Natti Kumar said.

He added that small producers, who borrowed lakhs of rupees to make movies, have been left in the lurch, as they are unable to pay interest on the loans.
