The Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Friday registered a cheating case against Bellamkonda Suresh and his son Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas after a financier named VL Sravan Kumar alleged them of cheating him with a sum of up to Rs 85 lakh. The father-son duo are facing complaints under IPC Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 417, 420 (cheating), and 120 B (criminal conspiracy).

On Saturday, holding a press meet, Suresh roundly condemned the allegations, saying that there is a conspiracy afoot to defame him and his son. "This is a conspiracy to trouble me and my family. Sravan never gave me any money. He didn't give me a single penny. There are some people with Sravan to conspire against me. If evidence is not offered to prove the allegations, I am going to file a defamation case," Suresh said today.

He added that he is ready to cooperate with cops for investigation. "Sravan has approached the court with a private petition. He has been asked to bring evidence. I will take the legal route to face Sravan. I haven't received any notice from either the court or the police," Suresh said.

The producer added that he has known the complainant for 10 years. "He hails from my native place and used to request me for movie tickets. Even if he asks me to pardon him, I won't. Sravan is clearly trying to blackmail me. A political leader is behind him," Suresh said.
