'Skanda' is slated to hit the cinemas on September 15. Its grand pre-release event was held in Hyderabad on Saturday. Nandamuri Balakrishna graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, director Boyapati Srinu said that producer Srinivasaa Chitturi is his friend and that nobody else could have been suited to produce the film better. "There is a superb fight in the movie involving buffaloes. I sincerely thank everyone involved who made it possible," Boyapati said. The trailer shows Ram in three get-ups.

Ram Pothineni began his speech by thanking the entire team. He said that Thaman's BGM for the movie is kick-a$$. "There is a thumping song that we are going to release soon. When it comes out, you will know what I am talking about. I had a ball dancing with Sree Leela. When I hear the name Boyapati, his stubbornness is what comes to my mind," the 'Double iSmart' actor said, adding that he always sees only his fans whenever he faces the camera.

Balakrishna said that it is a huge thing these days to draw audiences to theatres. He said that his father, NT Rama Rao, made films for the audience, not with commercial interests. The 'Bhagavanth Kesari' actor praised Ram's energy and made a brief mention about his trying the Telangana dialect in films. "I am doing the same in my next," he added. Stunt master Stun Siva was lauded by the guest. He has worked on 'Skanda' and, previously, 'Akhanda'.

Prem Rakshit of 'Naatu Naatu' fame (he recently won a National Award) has choreographed dances for three songs. Saiee Manjrekar is playing a suspenseful lead role in the action drama. Actor Srikanth and the 90s-era heroine Indraja have also got undisclosed roles.
