'Maamannan' was released in theatres in Tamil last month. The critically-acclaimed movie, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Vadivelu, and Fahadh Faasil of 'Pushpa' fame, is going to be released in Telugu as 'Nayakudu'.
Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the film will be released in theatres on July 14.
The release date announcement was today made by Asian Multiplexes Pvt Ltd and Suresh Productions. Co-starring Keerthy Suresh in a prominent role, the political action thriller has music by AR Rahman.
When the Tamil original was released in theatres, film critics there praised the movie in their glowing reviews. "Unsurprisingly, 'Maamannan' is a technically strong film. AR Rahman’s songs are ear-pleasers," wrote The Hindu. Theni Eswar has cranked the camera, while Selva RK has edited the movie.
