'Ichata Vaahanamulu Nilupa Raadu' starring Sushanth in the lead,is directed by Darshan. In this interview, the filmmaker talks about the film, working with Sushanth, his future projects, and more.

Q. How did you start Ichata Vaahanamulu Nilupa Raadu?
A.
This story is a real life incident. It happened to me in the year 2010 in Chennai. So, I was roped in to work for the movie 'Damarukam'. I happened to narrate this incident in some conversation with my friends. They adviced that this story had a potential to be made into a movie. I started writing the script in 2013.

Q. How did you feel that an incident could be made into a movie?
A.
After I started writing the story, I added romance, which stands as an important streak in the movie. Then we came up with comedy and other commercial elements.

Q. The title sounds different. Why did you choose this title?
A.
As I told, this is a commercial, thriller movie. An incident is what created the whole concept. So, the title is apt and the audience will understand why, after watching the movie.

Q. Why did you opt for Sushanth?
A.
Sushanth is apt for this role. He is going to appear in the role of an architect. He is going to grab attention of all as a boy-next-door look.

Q. You told that you are from Chennai. How come you are here now?
A.
I worked with Actor Priyadarshi and Abhinav during Pelli Choopulu times. After he got fame and identify in Pelli Choopulu, he called me and suggested to come to Hyderabad. He indicated that content-driven movies are doing well in Telugu and hence must try my luck.

Darshan also expressed his happiness over working with the producers who are good his good friends. "We were offered with good offers to release the movie on OTT platforms. But, my producers didn't want to. So, we are going with the theatrical release of Ichata Vaahanamulu Nilupa Raadu", Darshan told.
