"The characters, their emotions, the human ego, and the village life I lived are all reflected on screen. When I decided to tell a story, I thought, why not make it about my own village?" says director V Muniraju on his directorial debut. The film will hit the cinemas on April 17 and is produced by Kiran Abbavaram. The project marks the acting debut of Sai Tej and Veda Jalandharr. Vamsikanth Rekhana is the music director.
Kiran Abbavaram is like a brotherly and fatherly figure. This project came to life because of three people: Ritikesh Gorak anna, Rahasya Gorak garu, and Kiran anna. No matter how good a story one writes, you need artists who can perform it. Every single person provided incredible technical support. While watching this movie, you will be transported into that world. Along with entertainment and suspense, you will be moved by the emotions.
I grew up watching television first arrive in my village like a magical theater that had suddenly landed among us. That excitement, the curiosity, the way it changed everything; those memories never left me. As you can make out by now, the story of this film is deeply inspired by the incidents I witnessed as a child.
Many have asked me about the story's relatableness. This is a tale that anyone above 40 will instantly relate to, because they have lived through similar moments when TV entered their homes. And since the emotions carry themselves to their end, the build up will pay off.
We have assembled an incredible ensemble by scouting talent from various districts, including brilliant artists from the Surabhi theatre tradition. There are no 'small' roles here; every character is pivotal, and the performances are exceptional across the board.
For a debutant like me, Thimmarajupalli TV is a dream realized. I believe its success will pave the way for producers to place their trust in more newcomers, opening doors for a new generation of filmmakers.
Rooted in the heart of Rayalaseema, this film was shot entirely on location in my native village. From the narrative scenes to the songs filmed around Thimmarajupalli, we prioritized a raw, naturalistic style. My goal was to strip away the gloss of typical commercial cinema to create something truly authentic.
Heavily inspired by the raw realism of Sairat and the technical grit of Satya, this film is an exercise in immersive storytelling. We are pushing the boundaries with sequence shots lasting six to seven minutes, designed to pull the audience directly into the scene. While the visual style is grounded, we have ensured a premium technical experience with Atmos sound and a soundtrack where every track offers a distinct, fresh sonic identity.
I am certain that Thimmarajupalli TV will resonate deeply with Gen Z. To a generation raised in a digital era, the traditions, culture, and daily rhythms of this time will feel like a brand-new world. It’s an immersive experience, offering them a fresh perspective on a way of life they have never encountered before.
It is a pure suspense drama that keeps viewers hooked from the first frame to the last. The audience will stay engaged, eagerly waiting to know what happens next, and will walk out of the theatre with a powerful emotional impact.
The film has been screened for close associates and friends, and everyone connected deeply with the core message. Having a producer like Kiran Abbavaram is a blessing for the entire team. He believed in me strongly and is giving this small film such a grand release. That trust pushed me to take even more responsibility. Many small films with good content have succeeded before, and we hope Thimmarajupalli TV will be seen as a new-age filmmaking effort.
I already have five to six stories ready. My aspiration is to keep telling stories inspired by the world around us.
