Baapu classic film ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ starring Balakrishna, Nayantara, Srikanth and Akkineni Nageswara Rao which was produced by Yalamanchili Sai Babu has successfully completed 100 days run. On this occasion the 100 days function was held at Hyderabad today amidst many film personalities and the fans. Akkineni Nageswara Rao graced the function and release the ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ book. Balakrishna, Murali Mohan, Baapu, Yalamanchili Sai Babu, Jonna Vittula, Balayya and others participated. Mementos of 100 days of ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ were presented to the unit members by Balaji Basavatarakam Trust, Bangalore.
Akkineni Nageswara Rao said, “Valmiki is the real hero in Ramayanam who narrated about Rama. No one would ever dare to do changes in Ramayanam. But Ramana penned the script in a simple language that can be understood by every common man. ‘Lava Kusa’ is a wonderful film with beautiful songs. When Sai Babu approached me to do the role of Valmiki in ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ by saying that he is making the film with Balakrishna as Rama. However my wife did not like the idea of me doing the role of Valmiki because she wanted me to spend time with her during her last days. But I convinced her saying that I started my career as Rama and hence wanted to end my career as Valmiki. Balakrishna’s family is known for the God’s roles. The entire team was a good combination. I consider the audience as my Gods because they are responsible for the growth of our family. I’m very proud and happy to see the completion of 100 days of ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ which is the team’s hardwork. I wish to see Sai Babu make many more such wonderful films and become the role model for other producers.”
Balakrishna said, “I’m very happy to celebrate the 100 days function of ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ today with all of you. When Sai Babu garu approached me for the role of Rama in ‘Sri Ramarajyam;, I thought I would struggle to do the role. My father and Nageswara Rao garu portrayed these kind of roles at great ease. They have inspired me to accept this role and did justice to it with the blessings of all my seniors. I thought I was the competitor to my father. Another tough role is Lava Kusa and both the kids did wonderful job. Bapu-Ramana’s film would always create a festive mood among the Telugu audience. Baapu is well known to extract what he wants from the artists. Ilayaraja’s music and Jonnavittula’s lyrics were the special attraction to the film. I wish that Sai Babu garu will produce many more such films in the near future.”
Producer Sai Babu said, “I’m not as great as my seniors spoke about me. It’s due to Sri Rama’s blessings, I made this film as the memory for my parents. The entire credit goes to Baapu and Ramana. I requested them to take the responsibility to craft ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ and today they became the main reason for the film’s success. I will definitely produce many more such films in the near future. I prepared a story on a historical man which will be useful for the generation today. I even did 6 months of homework on that story. I start the film after I complete to write the script. In the mean time I am planning a film with good values related to the present generation.”
