A book titled ‘Vishwa Vijetha Vijayagatha’ with information regarding 150 films directed by Darsakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao was written by senior journalist Vinayaka Rao. The book launch was held on Saturday at Park Hyatt Hotel in Hyderabad. Super star Krishna graced the function and unveiled the book. The first copy of it was received by Pratap Arts’ CEO Raghava, who introduced Dasari as direction. And the first copy was purchased by Dasari Kiran Kumar for Rs 3,01,116/-.

T Subbarami Reddy, who attended the function as the chief guest said, “Only few will reach their goals in life. Dasari is one among them who scored 150 out of 100 marks. We have seen several directors in Telugu film industry till date, however Dasari created a brand for himself. He used to direct films ensuring all commercial elements in the film. He is the man who proved his mettle by doing films in several genres with several heroes. He knew the pulse of audience. He introduced several artists and technicians to the industry. He became successful in politics as well as in film industry. He is the man who believes being genuine and speak openly. Undoubtedly Dasari can be called as India’s No. 1 director.”

Superstar Krishna said, “Dasari gru and I entered the movie industry in 1964. While I made by debut as actor, he got introduced as a writer. Later he turned director and I did a film under his direction. His first directorial venture ‘Thatha Manavadu’ ran in theaters on par with NTR and ANR films. I congratulate Vinayaka Rao for writing a book on his 150 films.”

D Ramanaidu said, “Very happy to learn about the book on Dasari’s films written by senior journalist Vinayaka Rao. He is the man who played vital role in Telugu film industry. His first directorial film on our banner was ‘Brathuku Teruvu’. Later we worked together for several films. He is the director who earns profits for producers.”

Krishnam Raju recollected, “Dasari garu was a writer when I met him on the sets of ‘Mohammed Bin Tuglak’. Later I worked for films under his direction. All movies in our combination were blockbusters. I’m very happy to note that he did 150 films. He worked with NTR and ANR, later with our generation and then with the generation today too. I wish him to do many more films in the near future.”

Mohan Babu said, “My association with Dasari garu is 28 years. He is my guru who gave me the film life. I was one among those who stood in front of his house for the film opportunity. Several others like me waited for long to act under his direction. But many will not accept the fact. Dasari garu and the audience have brought me up to this level. He is the meaning of a director. He only knows how to write a dialogue and deliver it. The directors of today should learn a lot from him. I congratulate Vinayaka Rao garu for writing a book on a great director like him.”

Vinayaka Rao said, “While I was thinking of writing my next book after completing book on NTR garu, Dasari garu was the first person who struck my mind. The reason being, he is one among those who encouraged me in every stage of my 28 years of journalist life. It took two years to collect information on his 150 films. This book launch was supposed to be done long ago, but got postponed twice. Finaly it was Subbarami Reddy garu who got himself involved in releasing this book. Dasari garu belongs to one section in Telugu film industry. I thank Mohan Babu garu and Subbarami Reddy garu for their support in this book launch.”

Dasari Narayana Rao said, “This function is related to me. No one has so far organised as many felicitation functions as Subbarami Reddy. Today everyone is saying that I did 150 films but that wouldn’t have been possible without Raghava garu. Similarly not to foget people like YV Krishnayya, Palakollu Padmaraju and several others. We should not chase the luck. I believe that luck will knock our door. I came to the film field with the intention of becoming an actor. But later I became director and did 150 films. I worked with right from Nagayya till the generation today with several actors. Similarly I was lucky to work with several music directors and cameramen. 12 of my films celebrated silver jubilees and 100 days functions in a row. What else do I require as a director? Every actor had complete confidence in me. A star like NTR never even bothered to know what character he is going to play in my film. That was his confidence level on me. Because it’s the director’s responsibility right from selection of artists, designing characters till making the film successful. Today everyone is concentrating on collections only. But that is not important. Out of my 150 films, 100 films can be remade. I’m aware of Vinayaka Rao’s efforts for collecting information on these films. He used all kinds of opportunities to meet them to gather the related information. I take this opportunity to appreciate his hardwork and determination in writing this book. I also congratulate and thank Mohan Babu and Subbarami Reddy for taking special interest in launching this book.”

K Raghavendra Rao, K Vishwanath, Jaya Sudha, Kodi Ramakrishna, C Kalyan, N Shankar, Muthyala Subbaiah, R Narayana Murthy, Parachuri Venkateswara Rao, Boyapati Sreenu, VV Vinayak, Sivanageswara Rao, Bheemaneni Srinivas Rao, Tammareddy Bharadwaja and others also attended the function and made it a grand success.
