Starring Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni and Nassar, ‘Ghazi’ is directed by Sankalp Reddy. Matinee Entertainment and PVP Cinema banners are jointly producing the film. The film is scheduled to release on February 17 in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil as well. On the eve of film’s release, the film unit has arranged press meet on January 24.
Speaking at the press meet, Rana Daggubati informed, “First of all I would like to thank Rammohan garu, of course he is not related to this film. Why because, when I came to know from him that a submarine set was designed at lower Tank bund in Hyderabad, I immediately gathered information. Then I came to know that it was designed for the film ‘Ghazi’. Later I studied about Ghazi. I met Sankalp to tell about my interest to act in this film and became part of this wonderful film. Some of my friends and producers have criticized me by knowing that I am doing a submarine film. I have connection with RK Beech in Vizag since 20 years. I have been watching Ghazi submarine, but I don’t know the story behind that. Working for this film is a rare opportunity. Sankalp and I worked for nearly 6 to 7 months on the script. We have readied 10 to 15 versions and wentahead with the best version. I a rare genre films. Producers came together to make the film more effectively and bring out a quality film. Atul Kulkarni and Kay Kay Menon have worked for the film not just as actors but also as writers. I am thankful to Karan Johar and Tandon garu. They came forward to release the film in Hindi. They were very impressed by the film and were thrilled after watching the first half of the film with CG and second half without sound. Amitabh Bachchan was very impressed by the teaser and lent his voice for the Hindi version. The teaser has garnered 2 crores views within 2 hours of the release of the teaser. It shows how audience are eagerly waiting for the film. It’s my long-time dream to watch such kind of film in Telugu. My dream came true through ‘Ghazi’. I wish and hope that ‘Ghazi’ will stand out as a good start to welcome such kind of films in Telugu.”
