With four unforgettable Telugu films like ‘Bommarillu’, ‘Dhee’, ‘Ready’ and ‘Sashirekha Parinayam’, not to say of Hindi’s super hit ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, there is a heavy expectation in her new venture ‘Katha’. No doubt the producer and director are banking heavily on this golden leg actress who has now carved a niche for herself in Tollywood and also slowly but firmly making an impression in Bollywood. Amidst busy schedule she stole some time to share a few words with media and the excerpts are:

What’s this ‘Katha’ about?
Well, ‘Katha’ belongs to romantic thriller genre.  My role in this film is pretty interesting that has scope to simulate emotion.

You are playing a school teacher right!  How was this character designed?
Yeah!  I play the school teacher but it does not just mean that I would be confined to the black-board. It’s a unique character where you find her being self-confident but at the same time exhibiting clearly the strengths and addressing her weaknesses.

Does it mean it is a heroine centric movie?
It is a role that would make me feel proud even after 10 years.  Such is the intensity that this role would be remembered always something similar to my roles in  ‘Bommarillu’, and ‘Sashirekha Parinayam’ .

How come you always land up in memorable roles?
It’s my luck that the directors visualize me as a fitting individual when they think of characters like this.  Further I make it a point to give my full efforts even if it is a small scene.  You know, I always attempt to create an impression that I, Genelia have done that role.  People should see my role as Genelia’s role even if it is for a few seconds.  I strive for this.

Now a days the heroines have no qualms on bikini clad scenes.  How about you?
I’m always cautious when it comes to dressing.  I believe in presenting a reasonable and acceptable look.  I am not keen on bikini scenes.

Exposing?
Oh! I love it, as far as it is confined to my face and its expressions.  It’s a big ‘No’ when it crosses my boundaries.

Hard work or Luck, choose the right one for a successful heroine.
When my films were continuously failing I was referred to as iron leg.  Now, when there are continuous hits I am being referred to as golden leg.  You can infer whether it is luck or hard work which has given me this title.

It appears that you are favourite of women folk too?
Yes! Infact Krishna Vamsi use to appreciate me saying the girls want to have a sister like me, mother’s a daughter like me and the boys a wife like me.  It was his view that I portray a perfect Telugu girl.  Though I hail from Mumbai it is Tollywood in which I started my film career and I am proud to be called that I am part of Tollywood.

What is your dream role?
Whenever I am addressed and referred to for a particular role I start living that.  So there are innumerable characters in the world which I would like to portray.

What kind of better-half you would be interested in?
I would be interested in such a person who would accept me, my feelings and profession.  But still I’ve not thought about it very seriously.

The media is buzz with your closeness to Ritesh Deshmukh.  Is there any fire behind the smoke?
Laughs!!!  He is a best friend of mine.  I assure you all that I will stand on the roof top and scream whenever I fall in love with someone.
