COWE-NSIC Trade Fair Inaugurated

51 million MSMEs database in India will be captured digitally very soon: P. Uday Kumar, Director, NSIC, Govt of India

Government of India, Ministry of MSME is planning to digitalise the data base of 51 million MSMEs in the country very soon.

In this age of digital technology the data regarding Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises needs to be captured online. Therefore, the Ministry has launched a new initiative in MSME to capture data regarding MSMEs online through www.msmedatabank.in . This will help the Ministry in saving in the expenditure incurred at the time of 4th All India Census, which was in range of app. Rs. 200 crore. Also this data will help ministry plan the development activities and incentive programs well informed P. Uday Kumar, Director (Planning & Marketing) of National Small Industries Corporation(NSIC), New Delhi. He was the Chief Guest at the inauguration of COWE(Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs) of India and NSIC(National Small Industries Corporation Trade Fair 2016, which he kicked of by lighting the lamp at Imperial Gardens in Sikh Village in city.

Currently the pilot project is on, which has resulted in nearly 18000 MSMEs coming forward to enter their data base on the platform on their own, he said. Currently the data is available in physical form. We will do away with the same in future. We will roll out this initiative in next one month he said. With their MSMEs who seek help from government can reach well. This portal will segregate service providers and entrepreneurs.

In Japan whoever want to set up a MSME or SSI unit or for that matter any industry fill in just 11 details and get the registration in single go. Whereas in India we need to fill in 38 various application forms beside various other statutory compliances, he said. Ease of doing business is very important. Government is talking all the necessary steps to ensure the same he said. He urged women entrepreneurs to be more digital savvy and tech savvy.

D. Chandra Sekhar, Director of Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise said the Ministry of MSME has set up the infrastructure i.e. the Udyog Aadhaar (UA) Portal (http://udyogaadhaar.gov.in) for online filing of Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM) by enterprises located anywhere in the country. The UA portal is also accessible on mobile devices. There is an app, mymsme he informed.

The process of getting MSME or SSI Registration has been simplified by the introduction of Udyog Aadhaar MSME in India. Prior to applying for MSME registration entrepreneurs need to apply with two different form with two separate fillings. Those are (Entrepreneurs Memorandum) EM Part-1 and EM Part-2. The manual procedure is ridden with several challenges and is not considered investor or entrepreneurs friendly. On account of the cumbersome procedure and since the filling of EM is not mandatory, many MSMEs have not registered themselves and are outside the scope of services time to time offered by the Government.

This one page Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum is an initiative of MSME Ministry Govt. of India at simplifying registration process for entrepreneurs and promoting ease of doing business. The objective is to make the process of filling Udyog Aadhaar MSME forms for the applicant through online anytime registration informed Chandrashekhar.

Earlier welcoming the gathering, Girija Reddy, President of COWE India said one of the biggest obstacles a women entrepreneur faces is access to marketing opportunities. COWE’s Trade Fair is an attempt to provide a marketing platform to its members and other women entrepreneurs.

Nearly 150 women entrepreneurs put up stalls. Three young girls launched their new enterprises.

Some of the exhibitors include Mystic Designs, Ancient Living, The Kaftan Company, NSIC, Mangolia Fashion, Chandrika DesignChappidi Agro Foods etc.

Some of the highlights include a startup of former ISB employee Jyotsna Chappidi, who supplies ready to cook products to cater to the weekly needs of breakfast. These will be door delivered at a cost of Rs 1200/p per month. We supply everyday ready to cook food products like Chappatis, Poori, Dos Batter and Idli Battter she informed.

A young Vidhita has put up a stall of decorative flowers. I sell most of these products through online platforms like Amazon, Snapdeal etc. Response has been very good. I started my venture with Rs 80,000/- and I am doing well. Soon, I will also set up a physical store, she informed. Her designer flower pots were a steal and had many takers.

Pelli Poola Jada(www.pellipoolajada.com), which provides 150 varieties of Pelli Poola Jadas. These cost anywhere in the range of Rs 2000 to 4000/-. They also provide innovative Wedding Ring Tray, which cost Rs 1700 to 2000/-. “We strongly belive that our unique Pelli Poola Jada designs elevate our tradition, sporting them at the next wedding or family gathering is sure to make heads turn your way, sayd Kalpana Rajesh.

Instant and Decorative Rangoli, Floor Decoratives were again a highlight of the show. Mystic Design has come out with a unique offering. According to Ms. Surya.V, “this is not a painting. It is an art form made with flowers, ferns and grass. Lasting for ever, she said. There were many people seen enquiring this product.

Potti Purses, Designer Purses, Kitty Cluthese, Newspapers purse are some of the other highlights of the fair. The fair will conclude on Sunday.
