o First such performance in the city
Hyderabad, December 25th, 2016: Zorba - A Renaissance Studio – in which Talwalkars holds 50% stake, hosted a visual treat of AQUA YOGA & DANCE by a troupe of 70 members from Zorba in twin cities, in the waters of Jalvihar at Necklace Road on Sunday. Aqua yoga involves performing yoga in water. The scintillating performance being enacted for the first time in the city, saw the performers swaying at a synchronous rhythm, while performing various yoga asanas and dance in the water pool.
Unlike Yoga performed on the floor, which is limiting due to the gravitational pull, Aqua Yoga is a relaxing, pleasant and soothing experience due to low impact. It permits the body to stretch, thus enabling flexibility and relieving of knee and joint pains, besides weight loss. Aqua yoga burns around 2000 calories in a session as against 300 calories per session through regular yoga.
These members have been practicing a series of 22 different asanas of Zorba, one a day, from 1st December as part of 'Body & Beauty Challenge' (BBC) being hosted by Zorba - A Renaissance Studio. Today being the grand finale of BBC, Aqua yoga was performed. The 22 forms of yoga including Hatha, Bikram, Hot, Aerial, Basketball, Brick, Pillow yoga etc., ensure flexibility of all organs from head to toe. The session on aqua yoga was followed by Aqua zumba with participants performing dance to popular Bollywood and Tollywood songs.
Sarvesh Shashi, the CEO of Zorba, who is also the youngest CEO in the Wellness Industry in Indi,a says, “Yoga for me is happiness, and it’s a way of life. We believe in doing things differently and with zest. One such activity, the unique Aqua Yoga and Dance can help bring back the limelight to this traditional discipline and enthuse the youth to adopt it.

The feeling of weightlessness in water takes the stress out of challenged joints and stabilizes them to free muscular tightness or discomfort, says Tharanum Md., Zonal Manager - Telangana & AP, Talwalkars.
