Author Jaganmohan’s book on Gadavalli Ramabrahmam was launched today at Film Nagar Cultural Center in Hyderabad. Dr Akkineni Nageswara unveiled the book and handed over the first copy to Anumolu Subba Rao. Other prominent personalities who attended the function were Gudavalli Ramabrahmam, Dr Ramanaidu, Ramesh Prasad, Parachuri Brothers, Raavikondala Rao, K Raghava, etc.
Later addressing the gathering Dr Akkineni Nageswara Rao said, “It was my brother who introduced me to the film industry when I showed my desire to act in films. However, I was rejected by then for the reason being too young to act in films. After some time has passed, Ghantasala Balaramayya garu introduced me to Ramabrahmam garu saying that I belong to Ramabrahmam’s caste. At that time selections of artists was going on for the film ‘Mayalokam’. Shantikumari and Rajamma were the lead actresses in that movie. Although he was angry with me for not wishing him and coming with recommendation, he finally signed me for that film. Ramabrahmam garu used to serve me food in a silver plate in their house. I would be asked to do rehearsals every day. Later he started growing affection on me so much that he wanted to give away his entire property to me and make me his son-in-law. I am grateful to Balaramayya garu and Ramabrahmam garu forever for showing me a path to grow. The entire film industry should remember such people for generations together. The industry should give him the place he deserves. If the producers association allots some place, I will make their statue to fix it. ‘Maalapilla’ created sensation among the films Ramabrahmam garu made. He was nicked named as Brahmana Virodhi. He was surrounded by the Brahmins. One can learn the responsibilities he took to develop the society. He is also a journalist. Today’s generation should consider their ancestors as their role model because the older generation made meaningful films along with commercial elements. Hence the generation today should never forget them.”
