PETEX India 2017 Launch at HITEX

Hyderabad, November 11, 2017: Hyderabad soon will have a dedicated Park for Dogs. It will be India’s first Park announced Bonthu Rammohan speaking to the media immediately after inaugurating PETEX India 2017, the India’s largest Pet Expo, an exhibition for Pets & Dogs here in the city at Hitex.

Such parks exist in UK and Spain. But, we don’t have exclusive parks for dogs. Normally dogs are not allowed into general parks. This exclusive park for dogs which is coming up behind Radisson Hotel at Gachibowli is being set up at an investment of Rs 2crore. We have finalized the tenders and the work will begin soon informed Bonthu Rammohan. 

The objective of this park is to help communities become more pet-friendly. Though the finer details needs to be worked out, it will have agility equipment as well as amenities. It will be a place for dogs to socialize and owners to network with other dog owners, informed a GHMC official. 

Finding a place for your beloved pet to romp and play in this concrete Jungle is really difficult. The park what I understand from the GHMC is, it will be a pet friendly space with engaging features, informed Dr. Subash Babu, Founding President of The Hyderabad Canine Club. Dr. Subash is also the founding president of The Hyderabad Canine Club, which is the joint organizer of the Petex along with Hitex. 

PetexIndia 2017 is offering three things with this event. 01. Largest Pet Expo, 2. Premier Championship Dog Show, 3. Cat Fanciers Association of India(CFAI) International Show. Petex India is a two day event and will conclude Sunday evening.

Globally nearly 57 per cent of people own pets. Dogs are the most popular pet globally, owned by 33^, cats second at 23% and Firsh third at 12% and Birds at 6%

Petex India organizing Mondioring Sports, the most difficult dog sport. It will be demonstrated at the Dog Show on Sunday. For the first time in India, Mondioring Sports will be demonstrated at a Dog Show. Mondioring is considered to be the most difficult dog sport. Commando Kennels, who have been demonstrating dog sports across India since 1995, will be introducing this sport at Pedigree HyCan 17.

The expo has brought together Pet Owners, Pet Care Products, Pet Food and Pet Accessories. It is expected attract 50,000 visitors in the two days. 

According to Philip Butt, Honorary Secretary the top and rare dog breeds that will be showcased include: Cane Corsa, Pointer, Dog Argentino, Bichon Frise, Mattese, Poodle, St Bernard. 

500+ Dogs of 60+ breeds & 125+ Cats of 12 various breeds are available. There is a Live display of Exotic Birds and Fish & Aquaria, Truebred Horses and Rabbits, informed Philip

The Highlights of the two day expo is it has 200+ Exhibitors – Pet Food, Accessories, Medicare, Breeders and Training showcasing their products and services.

Another highlight is the Dogs’ sports demonstration of Agility, Flyball and Schutzhund and Championships, Obedience trials with International Judges. 

The show has attracted four international judges who include Mrs. Berly Hession and Mrs. Jean Butterfiled both from Australia; Mrs. Donne Lucas from South Africa; Mrs. Olga Timofeeva from Russia. The Indian Judge is Mathew Prakash Bhutt. 

The Show is introducing Kiran Chitnis, a Memorial Cash Award instituted by Mrs. Jaya Chitnis in memory of her husband. The Grand Winner will get this award. It will be cash Award of Rs 10,000/- that will be awarded to the dog on Sunday evening that scores the highest cumulative points from all the three shows of Pedigree HyCan 18computed from the best in show lineup of all the 3 shows. 

HyCan’17, the concurrent event, is India’s premier dog show organized by The Hyderabad Canine Club. HyCan’17 show will have more than 550+ dogs of 40+ breeds competing for the top honors.

The show has two days of dog sports demonstrations and competitions like Agility, Flyball, Schutzhund, Championships and Obedience adjudged by international judges. HyCan show is a visual treat for the kids.

CFAI International Cat Show by Cat Fanciers Association of India is displaying 125+ imported cats of various breeds and the show a treat for cat lovers. The cats of different breed are have participated in various demonstrations and compete in Appearance, Agility, Breed, Temperament and Grooming Contests adjudged by international judges. The show raised awareness about cat rearing and also recognize Indian breeds informed Squib Pathan, President of ICAI. 

This is the 3rd show. The first one held in Maharashtra, second in Bangalore. The best cats will win 10 trophies and 350 Rosettes, he informed. Out of 125 Cats, 45 have come from other states of India, Pathan informed. 

The Indian pet care industry is growing fast and owes its surge to the changing trends and increasing interest in owning pets. It has evolved into more than 6000 crore industry The industry is on the threshold of attaining double digit growth in retail segment. The penchant of the pet parent for quality care has added more muscle to the industry. With more than 6 lac pets being adopted every year, the industry’s annual growth is pegged at 10-15% while the year 2015 witnessed a business of around _ 900crore. The forecast of sales for packaged dog & cat food in 2016 is around Rs 700crore and it is touching about Rs 1000crore this year.
