Two Day Fashion Festival to Showcase New Collection in Indian Ethnic Clothes

Gifts happiness on this New Year eve to few girls and mothers from underprivileged backgrounds by giving them complete makeover

Sangeetha, the ISB Graduate under Goldman Sachs program is a remedial teaching expert turned self-taught fashion designer.

Hyderabad, January 3, 2019: Hyderabad based Sangeetha Studio to organize two day Fashion Festival here in the city at Sapthparni on Road No. 8 in Banjara Hills on 4th and 5th. In connection with the same a special preview by way of Mini Fashion Show was organized for the media today. Where ten models sporting 30 outfits showcased the collection.

Few girls/women from underprivileged backgrounds who were given a complete makeover, from toe to head, also walked on the ramp along with the professional models. The show was live streamed by way of Webcasting across the globe for its customers as well as to Sangeetha's Facebook4.5 lakh followers.

To gift happiness on this New Year 2019 eve, we have handpicked few girls/women who fought and fighting for their life. And we gave them cool makeover. Clothes make a difference. They give dignity. Through the makeover we have transformed few girls/women. It is a feel good factor for them as well as to us, said Sangeetha Rajesh, an Academician turned self taught fashion designer.

We pressed into the service of a makeup expert, who gave them a makeover. After which I styled them according to their preferences and tastes, she explained. This is our way of telling them that we care, added Sangeetha.

Sangeetha wants these girls look beautiful, bright, feel confident and great. I want people to look them beyond the word 'underprivileged'. Nearly 1500 clothes are showcased in the two day Fashion Festival. These include: Readymade and Designer Blouses, Indian Gowns, Cotton Kurtis, Anarkali, Banaras Sarees. Made in Indian Fabrics such as Ikkat, Jaipur Print, Indigo, Shibori, Bandhani Fabric and others. Nearly 700 Readymade and Designer Blouses and 400 varieties of Indian Gowns and others will be exhibited.

As people shop last minute, readymade blouses come in very handy. Blouse stitching is a painful and costly effort. The collection displayed is affordable and priced in the range of Rs 1000/- to 3500/-.

Indian Gowns in breathable fabric are need of the hour. Gowns are more comfortable for Indian women in the age group of 30 to 40years. They are not comfortable in Western Gowns because of size of the waist. Nearly 400 varieties of gowns in non shrinkable fabric and different fabrics procured from all over India will be a major attraction. These gowns are more durable, easy to maintain, trendy and stylish.

The search for stylish Indian Gowns is a laborious process. With these gowns you can be stylish..Still be traditional. You can be trendy, still be ethnic. Sangeetha, a ISB Graduate under Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Entrepreneurs Certificate Program, stumbled upon fashion industry by accident. She learnt the trick of the trade hard way.

Now she is the proud owner of two boutiques, Sangeetha Studio, at Himayatnagar and Jubilee Hills. Also, she is a founder of a school that focuses on education for special children (remedial teaching). She provides direct employment 36 people and indirect to another 15 people. She runs three units for Artisans give them gainful employment.

She is a Kalamkari Art Revivalist. She has held 40 Kalamkari Festivals and Solo Exhibitions to give fillip to the art and its clothes in the last three years. Which has been a phenomenal success across the globe? Her Facebook page has 4.5 customers. And these Kalamkari outfits have been purchased online from all over the globe.

Off late she found her interest in long forgotten age old childhood games. She wanted to revived them. So she came up with new idea of giving them a new and contemporary design look.

And she made them available for sale in her outfits so that customer grab because of their trendy and stylish looks and start exploring. Speaking about trends, Sangeetha who models herself for her designs says saree is always in demand. She strongly feels that Indian clothes are the best and able to withstand onslaught from the western wear. Many online portals like Amazon, Muntra, Ajio, Abof, Jabong, Koovs, Limeroad sale merchandise on return on unsatisfied basis. None of Indian boutiques can offer such facility, but, they are still surviving and going strong she adds.

Fashion always keeps changing. It is most unpredictable, ever evolving and ever revolving. Fashion is life is limited. Sangeetha takes business as a sport and science. She competes with herself. I am so small and i can't afford to fail. So I work hard. I better be creative to survive, she says. Coming from an orthodox Tamil family, she worked hard to withstand in the competition. She is a role model to many in her family. Looking at her, many young girls plunged into fashion world.
