The Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF), which runs the world's largest not-for- profit run Mid-Day Meal Programme serving more than 18 lakh children every school day, organised a Charity Lunch at its Narsingi Kitchen for members of the NGO, SEWA, to felicitate its newly appointed Goodwill Ambassador, Mrs Mamta Trivedi. The objective of the program was to create awareness about the operations of TAPF,
Sri Kounteya Dasa, Vice President, TAPF forTelangana, Sri Seshagiri Rao, General Manager, Narsingi kitchen and Ms. Reena Monica, Manager, Corporate Relations, felicitated Ms Trivedi and expressed confidence in her ability to spread the good word about TAPF and help TAPF in its fight against classroom hunger. They explained the operations of TAPF and took the guests on a tour of the kitchen and other facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms Mamta Trivedi said that all of us do charity work and also contribute to Annadaan schemes, if a contribution is made to Akshaya Patra, we are not only providing food to a child, but also supporting her education. She urged all the people present to support TAPF in whichever way they can, as no contribution is small.
SEWA members who participated in the event were happy to know about the operations of TAPF and said that they will work to create awareness about TAPF in their circles.
Mrs Mamta Trivedi is winner of Mrs India and Mrs Asia International World in the ear 2017. She is "Pride of Telangana" awardee and is also the founder president of SEWA. She joins an elite list of Goodwill ambassadors of TAPF, which includes the likes of A R Rehman, S S Rajamouli, Shankar Mahadevan, Shraddha Kapoor, TV Mohandas Pai and Chef Sanjeev Kapoor amongst others
