Hyderabad, January, 09, 2020: Hundreds of Sweet and Namkeen manufacturers are participating in the 3rd World Mithai & Namkeen Convention-Expo at Hitex in Hyderabad which is organized by Federation of Sweets and Namkeen Manufacturers (FSNM) in partnership with Almond House.
The two day convention and expo comprises of various unique events including seminars on industry specific issues followed by Gala Night and Industry awards. FSSAI, CEO, Sri Pawan Kumar Agarwal will inaugurate the convention who is also the chief guest for the program.
Guest of honor attending the event include Haldiram founder Sri Shiv Kishan Agarwal, Director Sri Manoharlal Agarwal, Bikanervala managing director Sri Shyam Sunder Agarwal, Haldiram ED, Sri AK Tyagi, FSNM managing director Sri Firoz H Naqvi, Almond House director Sri Chaitanya Muppala, Adyar Ananda Bhavan managing director Sri Srinivasa Raja and others.
Organizers of the convention termed unique of its kind in South India and vow to organize the industry stakeholders for enhancing quality and better consumer service in future.
About 100,000 manufacturers across the country are associated with the Namkeen and Mithai industry producing hundreds of region specific varieties. FSNM office bearers informed that the industry had crossed Rs 100,000 cr mark and would show a double digit growth rate in the next decade.
Earlier this week Chetan Agwarwal, Director, Bikaneerwala , Harish Ramani, Director, Karachi Bakery and Dora Raju, proprietor, Olive Mithai along with Firoz H Naqvi, Director of FSNM stated that Hyderabad had become the capital of Mithai Industry.
Firoz H Naqvi further said that the industry had been facing many issues related to different slabs of GST, food safety and other compliances and could have performed much better if these challenges were not there.
A seminar titled 'Compliance: Boon or Bane for Industry (FSSAI, Labelling, GST)' is being held as part of the convention on the first day chaired by Seema Atreya, VP, Quality Assurance
